I'll be working in the Operations office at the Coast Guard base.
I'm there every Thursday (sometimes more days) no matter what.
9/11 was the reason I joined the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Oct 2001.
I was too old to re-enlist in the Navy.
National Guard told me the same thing.

As Gen. Chuck Yeager said "When you can no longer do the things you like, do the next best thing."
Congrats to you, someone who served in the past, did his duty, and is back doing duty again. Thank you, sir!

I'll be working in the Operations office at the Coast Guard base. Hats off to you Coasties. I had to take to ferry into work from New Jersey to Manhattan after 9/11, since my subway station was under the WTC. The Coast Guard had a ship at the southern tip of Manhattan and armed guys in speedboats all over the place by September 12. Just seeing you guys out there made me feel a lot better, knowing someone was keeping an eye out.
