It was fun indeed, but I don't think it was such a grand epic that it ought to be re-made. I really can't stand Britney Spears as it is. I do wish some studio would re-make something like "Gone With the Wind", or some of those neat musicals that I've never seen except on TV because they were before my time. And put actors in them that know how to keep their politics to themselves so I won't feel compelled to boycott them.

I agree with everything you said, except that I love some of those old musicals just the way they were made.
I could not imagine anyone but Rex Harrison or Audrey Hepburn in "My Fair Lady"
Although the remake of "Mame" with Lucille Ball was great - but then she was one of the old timers!!!!!!!

The problem is that classic lines like "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn" just don't come of as well when they are rewritten as "F*** you, b****! I don't give a s*** what you do with your a**!"

I wish they would remake Gone With The Wind and actually have the movie follow the book closer. She has 3 kids in the book, but only 1 in the movie. I read the book a few times before ever watching the movie and was so disappointed.
