FR is many things. In my book's acknowledgements I call it the world's first and greatest virtual think tank and activism engine. It's also where I learned to really write.
FR gave me a place to practice quickly putting concise, pithy, sometimes witty thoughts into sentences and paragraphs. And then it gave me hundreds of readers, many of whom were always ready to comment, praise or damn what I said, challenging my written ideas and forcing me to improve them.
So Ward 19 was a little experiment, so what of it? Good for you for putting it down. It's just one class in your Writing 101 course. There are a hundred more classes to come.
But if a novel is your goal, I would suggest going the complete and detailed outline route. It's a rare writer that just puts each day's new ideas on top of yesterday's finished pages. That is for pros, and not even all pros, and certainly not for the first time novelist.
If a novel is too daunting, then aim for some short stories first. Think of the impact of Coffin Rodk! Aim to create such a short masterpiece, and you will have really done something.
Then when you have that under your belt, start writing the narrative of your novel, from the outline you are working on now.
Good luck,
Matt

Well, Elisha had the guts to put the work out in the public eye...and I am glad...I believe it has much more merit and potential than you imagine, and based upon Elisha's response and reaction to the fedback, I believe it will get better with the telling.
You also had the fortitude to place something out here in the public eye on this thread.
Of the two, mainly because of the nature and tone of what I see from both...at this point I'll have to go with Elisha's, both from a literary and a reasoned/civil dialog standpoint.

Dear Friends one and all
It is not my nature
Nor was it my intent
To cause ill will
I just needed to vent
So I tell you Im sorry
I take it all back
And admit that it is
Just good manners I lack
I know I was wrong
I must blame it on the bard
To steer him correctly
Sometimes is hard
The words flow
Metered to rhyme
Perhaps the words
Will become nicer in time
For now, this inner bard
Has an axe to grind
He really means no harm
Pay him no mind
So forgive me, I beg of you
Lets bury the axe
You do your thing
And Ill try to relax

Ms. Feather's poetry is beautiful stuff. I don't always understand it, but I love it anyway! My sentiments, exactly.

Thanks again, for your encouragement, and your rock solid advice.
Congratulations to you! I read that you were shipping out your books on Saturday.
I look forward to watching your rapid climb to the best sellers list, and someday, I can say, "I knew him when..."

Thanks for that...it says a lot of good about you that you would be willing to post it...and the ability you have to put such things off the cuff into prose is pretty neat.
To: Elisha
I look forward to it too! (Optimistically.)

Well,thank you. Thank you
I dont know what I drank
That made me say that
The whole story stank
Indeed I saw genius
In two dots and a tittle
But other than that
I saw very little
Now stop that,
I say to the bard
That man was proud
He worked very hard
The bard came to his senses
Came down from his throne
And said Im so sorry for
All the damage Ive done
I tell the bard sternly,
As we go out the door
Back to anger management class
For us, for sure.
But wait he says
Lets stay longer
I promise to be good
Ill make it sound stronger
Okay, we stop
There we stood
The bard coughed
Its kind of good
I looked at him
And he back at me
And we shook my head
And just said, Gee
