My Dragon Fly and Me
If I could be a Dragon Fly and wing my way through the sky I would never be shy just me and my Dragon Fly!
By moonlight we ride the wind chase the comets tail for fun by day we would hide from the sun our fragile wings would come undone
On darkest nights we would use fireflies as our guides we would dip and we would glide through the heavens open wide and scatter diamonds in the night sky my Dragon Fly and I...
And we would wing past our lovers silent in the night... to kiss their face in our flight much to their surprise and delight my Dragon Fly and me in sight...
Such a view do we share away up here in the air of breezes soft through our hair my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Where is the outrage you asked.
I'll answer you from my point of view,
it's worn on the faces of survivors
of that dreadful day.
Written on the minds of all who
witnessed the horror of planes
aimed at buildings filled with unsuspecting
humans, who in horror realized that
they would never see the light of day again.
In the dust, in crevices and places of the heart,
acid etched in memory
of terror, panic, and the awe of heinous acts
we had not seen in our lives so serene...
as a people of freedom land
the demons danced upon our land
and crying, moaning filled the hours
as visions flashed of falling towers
and people falling through the air
oh my God, what has happened here??!!
The outrage lives in some of us
we will not forget the death and gore
let loose upon our land,
let the young remember when our
land was safe from terror's hand
and hell's unholy band
of bandits and horrible greed, unleashed
and in our face, are we so dumb
to not remember that dark day??

The Cabin
Within the cabin lanterns glow
To keep the darkness in its place
And there in front of fire he lies
Soft amber warmth upon his face
He built this cabin by a stream
To live alone, away from man
He traps and gardens for his food
And from the stream there's gold to pan
As shadows dance upon the walls
And snow falls quietly in the night
His aching heart can find no rest
Another poem of her, he'll write
One day while walking hand in hand
A car did strike and kill his wife
His precious love forever lost
It stole the joy from his life
That hearts can bear such agony
A miracle to him it seems
Each day and night alone in pain
To only visit her in dreams
They'd always planned to settle here
And build a cabin such as this
Together to live out their lives
But of that hope they were to miss
He rises and wipes fog from panes
Through window views her lonely grave
And whispers words of love to her
Tells how he's trying to be brave
When morning comes he'll take the poem
Like all the rest that he did write
With ribbons tie it to her cross
Then speak to her 'til it is night

I am the weirdest of the weird, "A Practical Dreamer". My social style is expressive/analytical.

I am not analytical at all, a total space cadet! I have flown all my life. Dream, dream, dream, and romantic impressionist poetry. That's my style, of course a lot of mystery.:-) Keeps everyone on their toes, including, me.
To: bentfeather; SAMWolf
On the spur of the moment I received inspiration for some un-romantic, in fact, angry poetry today.
Illegal immigrants
marched through my space today
carrying a banner touting immigrant rights
Liars
if the truth be known they are illegals
and have no rights here in my country
I know legal immigrants
how dare you equate yourselves to them
legal immigrants fought there way here honorably
you slither in to steal from me
you and the socialists that support you lie
as you try to blur the distinction between legal and illegal
We are not fooled
and we will fight you
dead or alive
go back home
come here legally with the intent to speak english and
contribute to American values and you will be welcomed
otherwise dont bother coming back at all

Snippy that's what poetry is about. Good piece you have written today! Venting in this manner is one of the healthiest ways there is to let off steam.
Thanks so much for posing your work.
You have come a long way in a short time in your writing techniques with poetry.
To: bentfeather
techniquesruh-roh. I'm just rambling. I didn't know I was using techniques, except for the haiku stuff. LOL. Thank you for the encouragement.
