In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of “word for the day”. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the “word of the day”; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....

i am sure catholic schools have more latitude with stuff like that. st james has 2 recesses besides lunch in the lower grades. and on rainy days, or during the sniper thing here, they are permitted to run amok in the gym for their recess.

The epicenter was 30 miles southeast of Yellowstone Park in Montana, home of the Old Faithful geyser.

Washington Times

In the Great Void much jocularity
Comes when the east talks vicinity
The parks in Wyomin'
A sliver Montana gloms on
That or CJ's a southern entity.

Thanks.....

I think I need the wishes of good luck more for getting this resume redone than for getting a job :(

The scan into Word feature on my scanner didn't work, so I'm starting from scratch. I hate staring at my resume.

I keep second guessing myself about whether I should make changes or not. If I was doing someone else's I would have had it over and done with in less than an hour.

That is insane. I'm glad somebody called her bluff (butt?) on this. That is one of my favorite songs by Queen, though.

What really annoys me is people playing the "I'm a victim" game.

I mean really. About 6 years ago I saw an ad in the paper for a position that fit me qualifications to a "T" except that it clearly stated in the ad "Smokers Need Not Apply." Am I a victim of the anti-smoker mindset, probably, but definitely not in that case. If I really, really wanted the job ( I wasn't even the slightest bit interested) all I had to do was quit smoking, or claim I had.

I was a target of both sexual harrassment and discrimination at one job I had, but I didn't go running for a lawyer - I started looking for another job and once I knew I had it secured, I got even with the place I was working - I walked out in the middle of my shift, taking all my notes and contact lists with me - I was an on-air radio reporter at the time primarily covering politics.

It didn't take them 3 hours before they start begging me to change my mind. I had half the legislature pushing me to file suit, including several attorneys. I wouldn't. Had it happened a few years later, when I knew more, I probably would have, because I really did have a valid case. But I don't believe in the victim mindset idea.

Asked if the date could lead to a sexual encounter, campaign aide Jayson Helgeson replied, "I don't think so, that's not part of it. It's like a normal date."

(Scratching head...) I don't get it....IMHO, if you are out on a dinner date, ordering from the menu = consent....; )
