In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of word for the day. Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the word of the day; in a sentence. The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day. Practice makes perfect.....post on....
scintilla \sin-TIL-uh\, noun

1. A tiny or scarcely detectable amount; the slightest particle; a trace
2. A spark; a flash.
3. Miniscule
In victory, they must hold on to at least a scintilla of humility, lest they get too cocky -- and ripe for a takedown.
--Bill Breen, "'We are literally trying to stop time,'" Fast Company, May 2000
Etymology: Latin scintilla, "a spark, a glimmer, a faint trace." Also from scintilla is the verb scintillate, "to sparkle."

I have played very little golf since Jax came along. About 2 weeks after I finished taking lessons I found out I was pregnant and hubby had already bought me a set of clubs for Christmas. I think I have used them 3 times!!!
Your club sounds great, and I can understand the lack of snootiness. I always loved being invited over to DAFB.
For our regular Friday afternoon date hubby and I have decided to see if we can find a watering hole closer to home than the one we normally go to - he figures with Wallops so close to us, there have got to be some places in that vicinity.

I always went swimming with my granmother, my mother didn't swim, but my grandmother was unbelievable.....and she was always a smoker and a drinker. Even when I was a kid I usually gave up long before she did.
Those swimming lessons I took way back when still come in handy!!!

There is not even a
scintilla of modesty, decency, or even common sense at the online retailer, Freshpair.com, who "wants people to flash a little thong, reveal a bra strap or offer a peek of their boxers as a show of support for the proposed National Underwear Day".
Americans Encouraged to Bare Underwear - NEW YORK Liberate your undies!
I say boycott their silly National Underwear Day by going commando. What do you say ladies, Commando Friday tomorrow?

I agree with the one who said having underwear show is the sign of a sloppy dresser. I scold the teenage boys at the gym to pull up their shorts - if we wanted to see their underwear, we'd hang out in the locker room. Do they think it turns anyone on? It doesn't, unless it's a teenybopper who's into slobs.

I love when I trick himAdmitting to turning tricks is no way for a lady toa ct.

Is your selectivity limited to the classroom or does your wife have to suffer it too? ;)

I hung around the mall to look at dresses. Choices are horrible...either frumpy or hootchie-momma. For Flurrette's wedding, I need something in between.

So many live style issues address your health. Smoke Gnatzies compare 80 year old smokers to 30 year old non- smokers. As you know smoking gets blamed as the culprit for any malady a smoker may have. "He's fat because he smokes". "She has rickets because she smokes". "He died after being drug 2 miles by 18 wheeler because he smokes". "She has male pattern baldness because she smokes". "Whoopie Goldberg is black because she smokes." "Uday and Quesay, cause of death Smoking". Smoke is the ultimate evil.
