Yep, the toddler is one all day long power struggle. But I know that's normal at his age and with him I think I deal with it decently. The hubby was actually the one to get him sleeping through the night in his own playpen (he was terrified of the crib for some reason) when I was working nightshift. He still screams and kicks when I drag him to bed at night BUT he doesn't get out of bed once I put him there and goes to sleep without too much fuss. He may sit and play until 1am in bed once in a while, but he doesn't scream for us to come in there, which works for me.

The one I'm dealing with is only 9 1/2mth old so she doesn't understand much beyond "scream until mommy comes" or "i want mommy now and daddy isn't an option."

We knew our parents would tear our azz off so we went to school behaved. The standouts badazzes had aagry teacher and principal to deal with them.

I blame Dr. Spock and and the Dems.

In our town, the teachers are afraid to discipline the black kids (that's racism you know /sarcasm) and the parents get mad when the teacher do actually discipline their kids. They get stuck with kids who have jerks for parents.

I hate having to do it in public, it's easy at home...

I have always said that I am a lucky lady, from day one, and to this day, hubby has always done everything he could to give me a break - even if it's only for an hour or two.

You should do what I did with Thena.

Since she's so tall and can reach anything on the coffee table that she wants, I trained her that unless it's on the floor it's not hers. Now granted if I drop something and don't realize I have, she's eaten a book or two! LOL

Yep. She is so much more willfull than the toddler ever was that it's scary. I'm not sure I put him down much for the first 6mths of his life but he was never this difficult. I think most of his recent difficulty is a combo of normal toddler behavior and trying to get attention away from the baby. The baby is just altogether weird a lot of times. If she's crying, she only wants me, daddy is only wanted at playtime. And if a stranger looks at her, she gives them a dirty look most of the time.. if they dare to speak to her she *screams* this blood curdling scream until they are out of sight. You wouldn't believe how many people she's offended this way. lol She won't even let my father in law be in sight of her without screaming bloody murder and he hasn't even held her since she was 6wks old because of it.

Not in this household.
