Thank goodness your daughter has been taught right (all at home, no doubt). I am horrified at what I see kids wearing, even in the three small towns nearest to us (largest one has just over 20,000). I was at the market in the one with about 7000 on the way home from a job site on Friday, and there was a mom and her young teen daughter in front of me in the checkout line. The girl bent down to get the items on the rack under the cart, and you could see right down the front of her halter top, and down the back of her really low hip huggers. I just wanted to shake the s**t out of her mother, who, no doubt will be howling "rape" when some horney young fellow decides to partake of what the little exhibitionist appears to be offering.

I got very lucky with the toddler being a GREAT sleeper. He will even voluntarily stay in his room until I open his door and say "morning!" He just turns on his TV and watches cartoons until I get up. It's the 9 1/2mth old that is so hard. All the hormones kick in immediately when she starts crying and after about 3-4 minutes, I end up crying myself if I can't calm her down. I honestly WANT to try it, but I just don't know if I could make it or if she would ever actually fall asleep as long as she's crying. She's been know to even throw temper tantrums that last up to an hour when she doesn't get her way.

it helps that they are all required to wear uniforms in Catholic school and there is a skirt length requirement. even apart from that. it has always been the norm for xsteen to wear shorts under her uniform skirt. apparently that is also de riguer in her new HS (also catholic, and all girls). now don't get me wrong. she has abercrombie baby tees and wears her pants and shorts a bit low, but not indecently so. you can't expect a teenage girl to look like a bookmarm. she went shopping with a girlfriend and showed up with a short white skirt that horrified her father. turns out it is a skort. she is not a hussy and she knows one to see one!

i'm not saying it might not take an hour of listening to her bawl. but it won't last forever and if she doesn't get what she wants, she won't waste the effort. just think about it. she is thinking, if i just hang on long enough, i am going to get that boob, so i am going to scream blue murder til i do! if that boob never materializes, she will not keep up the shenanigans. babies are smarter than dogs, and you can train them the same way!

We had to kneel down on the gym floor and they measured our plaid skirts. The big scandal was when one girl was sent to the office for going braless. I loved having uniforms and wish our schools would do it.

"It's amazing, but, some of the same anti-smokers I was referring to earlier today actually found fault with me for calling the police on the crack dealers. The claim was that I was a bigger drug addict and had no right to find fault with other addicts, let alone call the authorities on them."

That's insane. Even though I dislike all the WOD stuff, I still have no problem calling cops when they are dealing crack and coke out of their trunk 15-20ft from my front door. I don't want a shoot out that close to me if one of their rivals happens by. There is enough shooting already with the crypts deciding this neighborhood is their territoty.

My ex-husband got into a spot of trouble at work when I refused to allow him to contribute to United Way. He was ticked off at me, but when I explained to him that UW supported causes he opposed he finally understood.

Of course because he was such a woos, he wrote a check to them instead of having a paycheck deduction - he thought I wouldn't find out.

Cyber got some Hostess Cupcakes for me, which I didn't eat. When the 'bot saw them in the car, he said, "Oh, my gosh, you have FOOD!"

A Hostess coincidence! I was just catching up on some e-mail list stuff, and realized that one of my humor attempts appeared on the ClubRum List on 6 August 2003:

are you going to try it? have you read the book? it is filled with case studies. it really is helpful. i highly recommend it. and you live in the middle of nowhere there, who is going to hear Jax bawl? other than you and hubby of course!

Okay...I'm almost out of my Lancome Vinefit moisturizer. I love it and it works well with my skin. Do I walk across the street and purchase another bottle, or do I switch to a product made by a USA company that may or may not work as well?
