Just a little LOVE SONG...It comes at a time when everyone needs a breather in their complex lives, someone write a song that stirs the deepest emotion, from the recesses of their soul to the twinkle in their eyes.
Ares son of Zeus; god of prophecy, light, poetry, and music, may not have started it, but he at least recorded it, if only in mythology, music is emotion. Songs in general, and LOVE SONGS in particular, have answered our need to express our inner passion, yearning, and desires, into sounds and words.
Poetry, and verse do translate into feelings and conjure up strong desires, lust, and yearnings, but when blended with sound it seems to hit the desired note in all of us..
Share with us, if you would please, your idea of the true love song, and if I assure you I won't tell anyone, tell me how it worked on you.... fingers crossed, eyes squeezed shut, mouth covered... ;)
Dulcinea
I have dreamed thee too long,
Never seen thee or touched thee, but known thee with all of my heart,
Half a prayer, half a song,
Thou has always been with me, though we have been always apart.
Dulcinea ... Dulcinea ...
I see heaven when I see thee, Dulcinea,
And thy name is like a prayer an angel whispers ...
Dulcinea ... Dulcinea!
If I reach out to thee,
Do not tremble and shrink from the touch of my hand on thy hair.
Let my fingers but see
Thou art warm and alive, and no phantom to fade in the air.
Dulcinea ... Dulcinea ...
I have sought thee, sung thee, dreamed thee, Dulcinea!
Now I've found thee, and the world shall know thy glory.
Dulcinea ... Dulcinea!
My Clinton-Crotch-Chomping-Calico-Kitty is named Dulcinea.
He made the lyrics track wonderfully with the music, and the music on the tape puts this MIDI to shame.
Those are beautiful lyrics! What a sweet and touching thing to do for your girl. (sniff!)
(I lived in Oak Harbor, Whidbey Island when I was in first and second grade...)
I always thought Life is Just a Bowl of Cherries
And I love you so,
the people ask me how.
How I've lived till now,
I tell then I don't know.
I guess they understand,
how lonely life has been.
But life began again,
the day you took my hand.
And yes, I know
how lonely life can be.
The shadows follow me
and the night won't set me free.
But I don't let
the evening get me down.
Now that you're around me.
And you love me too,
your thoughts are just for me.
You set my spirit free,
I'm happy that you do.
The book of life is brief,
and once a page is read.
All but love is dead,
that is my belief.
And yes, I know
how lonely life can be.
The shadows follow me
and the night won't set me free.
But I don't let
the evening get me down.
Now that you're around me.
They just don't write music like that nowadays...LOLOL Thank you soooooo much.. :)

I have moments, and I can't seem to keep them to myself..LOLOL.. Maybe I'll be better when I grow up... Hahahahah
I have their album on almost every day, at home and in my car.. I am thinking of putting music on our website as an option (I hate website that play as soon as you log on, scare the Hell out of me.. LOL) with these and other great songs from across the music spectrum.
Can't Help Falling In Love - Elvis Presley Wise men say only fools rush in But I can't help falling in love with you Shall I stay Would it be a sin If I can't help falling in love with you Like a river flows surely to the sea Darling so it goes Some things are meant to be Take my hand, take my whole life, too For I can't falling in love with you Like a river flows surely to the sea Darling so it goes Some things are meant to be Take my hand, take my whole life, too For I can't help falling in love with you For I can't help falling in love with you
That has soul, those songs bring back so many great memories.. and some no so great LOL .. Perhaps a subject for another sick thread...Hahahhaha... sigh

Thank you!
What a voice...you are so right. Have you ever heard Chris Isaac's "I don't Want To Fall In Love"? It also goes by another title, but my brain is addled at the moment.
At any rate, he has that same "earnestness" in his voice. I'll try to find you a link.
