The characteristics of Aphrodite have bewildered philosophers who, like Plato, made a distinction between the two aspects of the goddess, one Uranian "celestial," as the goddess of pure love, and Pandemian, or "popular," as the goddess presiding over ordinary love affairs.

The Saddamites and the Sodomites I suspect there is a lot of crossover between the two camps, too.

Freaky Friday is a movie (currently starring Jamie Lee Curtis as the mom) in which a mother and daughter trade places after each complains about how much her life sucks and how much easier the other has things. The daughter goes thru the day in her mother's body having to live her mother's life and the mother has to live her daughter's life for a day.
It is a remake of a Disney flick from many years ago in which Barbara Harris played the mother and Jodie Foster played the teenage daughter (Foster was probably about 13 or 14 at the time). John Astin played the father in the original.

This could be the downfall of the NFL....
"Illegal use of hands" penalty on EVERY play.
Both benches empty to assist player down with a groin injury.
Post-game showers resemble "Gay Day" at DisneyWorld.
To: VRWCmember
John Astin is always hilarious.

My brother muttered "sodomite" under his breath awhile back when he and my sister-in-law were out to dinner with us, and we were waited on by a very obvious, rude and sarcastic sodomite. My SIL and hubby, both being military used the term "f***in" f**.

I suspect there is a lot of crossover between the two camps, too. I would think so too.

Delay of game penalties every play because the center was really enjoying having the QB's hands in his crotch.

John Astin is always hilarious. Yes, he is. One of the funniest movies ever made (that almost nobody has ever seen) was "Evil Roy Slade".
To: VRWCmember
We saw it and laughed all the way through.

John Astin has always seemed funny in the same way that John Kleese is to me-really funny.

Yes, we had some fun at the expense of the Nancy Boys.
And a good time was had by all.
To: Texan5
We used to call them "rump rangers" when I was in college. You mean the truckers of the Hershey Highway?

Monty Python's Flying Circus
Fawlty Towers
Both classically hysterical, IMO.
To: TheGrimReaper
I have the entire set of Fawlty Towers on VHS (12 episodes on a 4-tape set). No matter how many times I watch them, they never cease to make me laugh. I can almost quote every line verbatim, but it still cracks me up.
Did you see "The Out of Towners" with Steve Martin and Goldie Hawn? Cleese plays a snooty hotel manager in a posh Manhattan hotel, and he practically stole the show from Steve Martin.
To: VRWCmember
Both the original Out of Towners and the remake sucked. Doesn't anyone in Hollyweird have afresh Idea. John Cleese is a hoot though.
