There are only 3 letter for KFI.

No problemo. Its www.KFI640.com and it seems you have to use IE.

Go to www.johnandkenshow.com and get the LA times article they are talking about. It's called "Undermining American Workers" and they can't believe the Slimes printed it. Someone needs to post it here.

I can never listen to John & Ken any more because their stream doesn't work on NT machines and the massive entity I work for only has NTs.
I hesitate to suggest they upgrade, because whnever this entity that I work for takes on a new computer project it turns into a vast boondoggle costing California's taxpayers lots and lots of money, and it usually is obsolete by the time they "fix" it.

I wish the knuckleheads at KFI would stream audio for Mac users, most other stations do.

It's been posted- last month- but rest of article requires registration at LA times. I read the article in the Slimes and it is excellent.

I can't always get it, so when it doesn't work for me, I go to KOGO out of San Diego.

If you go to John and Ken site(not KFI), you should also check out the audio files and listen to the interview with Loretta Sanchez. That was a great interview.

The earliest FCC issued call letters were 3 letters. The western stations were issued calls starting with K, the eastern ones started with W. KFI is an AM radio station. My old marine electronics employer was issued KXI.
The high seas SSB operator on the west coast is KMI at Point Reyes, CA. East coast SSB operator is WOM at Ft. Lauderdale.
Surely you've heard of WWV, the time reference.

No I haven't heard of WWV. Should I and thanks for the info.
To: freekitty
WWV is a time and frequency reference. They broadcast on 2.5, 5, 10, 15 and 20 MHz and provide very accurate time announcements. WWV works out of Ft. Collins, CO. There is another station, WWVH in Hawaii. WWV uses a male voice announcer. WWVH uses a female voice. Canada runs a similar server (CHU) on 3.300, 7.335, and 14.670 MHz.
The nifty radio controlled clocks sold at Radio Shack run off the BCD time code transmitted by WWV. The data is transmitted at a whopping ONE bit per second.
