The Hobbit Hole IV – The Road Goes Ever On…
Posted on 08/04/2003 9:43:18 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog
Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
The Road Goes Ever On
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

We've had several new folks, and some very old friends drop by today. Make the place seem all cozy-like, huh? Yes it does. You know, I lurked on the first 2 threads but wouldn't post. Then, with the beginning of the 3rd thread I finally thought, well this is a new one. Might as well. so I did.

She turns 8 in November... and we are trying to raise her right. :-)
Right now we are trying to decide if we are to homeschool again this next year. We are gonna look at the public school this week...I pray that God makes it perfectly clear to both of us what we should do. We'll let ya know. Last year we used sonlight 2nd grade with advanced reading and we did 3rd grade math. I just don't want her to be bored in a regular 2nd grade class this year. This school has no advanced program. The homeschooling group here does a lot and is big...over 100 families. I am just worried that with all I want to do to this house plus stay organized...not to mention loving on a newborn baby. It's too much for me?! I do know that if it is God's will, He will make it work. Nothing is too much for Him. I serve a living and powerful God! If I can only remember that. :-)

Sonlight is a great curriculum, from what I hear! We use Alpha Omega and really love it.
I hope you decide to stick with the homeschooling, but for selfish reasons! I enjoy having fellow homeschoolers to chat with here in the Hole!
If you do decide to continue homeschooling and get to feeling stressed...just let me know and I'll do my best to encourage you!
Good night!

Well, I found your
review of The Two Towers. But I haven't found your Galadriel comments yet, although I have a faint memory of you making them... in a different place than Wneighbor recalls, though. I'll keep looking!

Well. If it ain't with those photos I don't know. But g'nads description of the mrs. put a marker in my memory. No matter what sort of dwarfly things he indulges in he is top notch forever.

Indeed, good night everyone! Great start to our new thread. Whew! - Many miles we have gone already today!
What a great group of folk here! Both those that have found us already, and those who are still out wandering the wilds and have not yet turned up.
Be sure to monitor tomorrow when Corin is expected to make his live pier-cam appearance with Frodo. I am expecting his call around 10 pacific!
