Will Kobie be convicted?
One small Voice

In your opinion will Kobie be convicted of rape? I do not even think it will go to trial, I see another $8,000,000 ring is Kobie's future.

If he is convicted of rape will it help or hurt his career?

Not sure about Colorado, but in most States it ain't up to the victim whether it goes to trial or not. Kobe can't buy his way out at this point.

Is there a particular reason that I, as one who knows neither Bryant nor what's-her-name, should care?

I think he's going to do time. Even if he pleads to a lesser charge. And it's already hurt his career off the court. The real guess is when the bride breaks bad on him.

I think I'd rather wait to specutlate until we see a bit more, like actual evidence.

"The real guess is when the bride breaks bad on him."

That is what I am waiting to see. (only AFTER she gets the matching earrings, bracelet and necklace to go with the ring).

After she helps in his defense. 50% of an NBA star's salary is a lot better than 50% of a license plate maker's pay.

I'll leave it to the trial where rumor doesn't count.

I concur. I think the DA knew that he had to have a slam-dunk ( pun intended) case...in order to go forward...what's also of comfort, compared to both the OJ and the Lacy Petersen case, is that there have been really no leaks from the prosecution or the police...

If Kobie works it out so that he only attends jail during the off-season, the lakers will be fine. But if he gets some mean old judge who makes kobie attend jail 24/7, then the will throw their hands up in the air and roll their eyes.

I'm not trying to sound like a jerk but, who cares? This country is already overly-obsessed with grown men playing a game. As if that isn't bad enough, now we have to deal with Kobe 24/7 on every news outlet for the next year for the criminal trial and at least four months after that for the lawsuit. To make things even worse, all these media events do is make celebrities out of the lowest form of life in the United States....lawyers!
