I don't think there is enough of whatever it is Gabz smokes to get that request outta her

That reply brought to mind one of my favorite novels I read as a young teen-Parrish. I also saw the movie, but it was not as good as the book. It was about tobacco farming, and rich folks who buy off poorer folk to stay quite about dirt.

I never heard of that one.
When I read the flyleaf on this one it sounded interesting, although I have never read anything by this particular author before. A russian refuge marries an american serviceman who is heir to a Virginia tobacco company so when Virginia society doesn't accept her she immerses herself in the company and when the health stuff comes out she battles with the rest of the family to diversify. Sounds like it will be a fun read!!!!!

He doesn't seem to be having too much difficulty, even if xsboy was doing the holding!!!
We think we may have wound up with a barn cat - not at our initiative. For the past 3 or 4 evenings I swear I have been hearing a kitten mewing outside, but hubby says he hadn't heard it, although Jax asked him about it the other night. Last night I knew it wasn't my imagination because he finally heard it.
We were a sight outside with the flashlight trying to find it. He was a bit leary because we do know there is a bobcat in the area and he did not relish the thought this might me a kitten of that. We lost that fear after we saw paw prints in the sand baox - real kitten, not bobcat!!!
Mind you, hubby is as averse to cats as xshub is to dogs - yet he is the one that went into the house and got the can of tunafish to put in the barn alongside the milk he had earlier sent me in the house to get!!!!

Here is what an 8 ct purple diamond looks like. i thought it would be more purple than that. Yellow diamonds are very exotic, and they are quite yellow. it is just as well i will never own one : )

LOL!!! I wish I had a good camera to take night pictures.
After I put the milk in the barn we went upto the deck to sit - and then we heard it again. Using the flashlight I was able to pinpoint it near the veggie garden and that is when hubby went and got the tuna. I kept the light on the kitten and he litteraly got on his hands and knees trying to tempt it to come to him.
I would so love to have had a picture of that!!!
