It is excellent, but quite pricey. Enjoy!

Never been, but I hear it's tops. Everyone is entitled to a good steak now and then.

I don't think so, but it depends on what you like. The servings are huge (almost typed hugh, oops) and covered in butter. The meat is good but I've had better. The side items are also good but often large enough for two. It is definately not "healthy heart". Don't forget your Lipitor.

Is it worth more than eating at home for half that much? No. Will you be on your deathbed wishing you hadn't gone? No. Red meat, martinis and cigars.

It is very good. It is very expensive. Nice atmosphere, but if you are on a budget - go to the store and get some good big steaks ($18/each) & grill them up.
To: yankeedame
I got a $25.00 gift certificate to there about five years ago. We've never used it 'cause I just can't justify spending that much cash for one meal. (Not $25.00, that would roughly cover the after dinner mint)
To: yankeedame
uh, no...the wine is grossly overpriced as is the beef.Go to your butcher and get the best porterhouse you can instead.Ruth's Chris is only a good deal if on an expense account :)
To: yankeedame
Nothing they serve can't be done better at home, and at those prices, it is gouging to offer items like roast spuds and creamed spinach as side orders. You won't get veggies with your meal.

I've never eaten there but they mailed us a $25 gift certificate so hubby and I each enjoyed a $12 glass of wine and only had to leave a $5 tip. I don't know about the steaks but the wine was very good. ;-)

Look...if I could afford it as a public school teacher...I'd go. How's that? In fact, I'm off to a much more reasonable steak (but no less tasy I'll wager) at the "Texas Roadhouse Grill" tonight. Porterhouse FOREVER!!!

Hey gang,
For got to mention that this trip to Ruth's Chris would be for our 25th anniversery. You know, once in a life-time sort of thing. (Not that my husband wouldn't love to just stay home and have me cook for him!)
Regards,
-YD

I haven't been to one in ten years, but I still remember the sizzle of that steak, and the great taste and texture.
When I was commuting to DC ten years ago, I ate there once or twice a week.
If the quality hasn't deteriorated, you really should go. I wish they had one in Boston.

If you do not frequent upscale restaurants, then Ruth's Chris is a treat to be experienced.
There are better steaks outs there (Smith & Wollensky, etc), but if you have the opportunity, go to Ruth's Chris and enjoy!!!!!!
That's what life is all about!

Go !...ENJOY !!...Its a special night. Have a GREAT TIME !!
