AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 896) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | July 5, 2003 | All of Us

Posted on 07/05/2003 4:42:20 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

The United States has decide to try six suspected Al Qa'eda terrorists in military tribunals. The European Union has warned the United States not to use the death penalty or it would cause the international coalition to lose its integrity. [Ed. note: PUHLEASE!] Among the six designated are two British and one Austrailian.

An Iranian missile using a North Korean engine has been successfully tested. The tested missile has a range that will reach Israel.

And violence continues in Iraq: one American soldier was killed yesterday, and 12 wounded.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

....ham and potato meatballs with a cream sauce. BUT you have to grind the ham.

Sounds wonderful. You don't have to go out and buy a meaat grinder for this recipe. Go to the supermarket, pick up a vacumn sealed ham from the meat case and take it to the man behind the counter and tell him to grind it for you. I have ham ground about once every three weeks. I use it for Ham Balls (basic ham loaf recipe, using ground graham crackers for binding, made into baseball sized portions) and for dips.

Some places around here won't grind pork anymore. The equipment has to be completely cleaned between types of meats. Needless to say, I only go the places where the guys behind the counter care about their customers.

Why won't they grind pork?

There's far more danger to exposure to somethin' nasty from poultry. Do they grind poultry?

There's an idea. I will inquire at the grocery if they will do this. No hurry, since this is a cold-weather type meal, NOT something I would make in 90 degree heat.

I know it says that, but I recently saw an article that mentioned they've migrated to other states.....

Seriously keep an eye on it....my bil was bitten by one a few years ago....and the bite cratered on his leg)...

..he went to the doctor but some damage had been done.

It eventually healed, but it took time.... the doctor was glad he came in.

He got his inside of a closet at a motel....a rustic seaside motel that was rarely used.
He knows that's where he got it.....remembers it happening---had just reached in to hang something up.

Now black widows are found on lawn chairs and park benches....sometimes.

Do they grind poultry?

I don't know of anyone that grinds poultry around here. It's tough to find a place that will custom cut anything without paying a premium.

I meant to post this link to you and Kayak yesterday or before. Kayak seems to be in hibernation, and you yourself are being rather scarce. Anyhow, I hope that you like the link, if you have not already seen it.

Did you see the story that Dean is saying that if he is nominated he will get rid of Terry McAuliffe?

There are two possibilities, Dean did not say this and some one is setting him up or he did say it.

I think it is quite possible Dean said it, but did not think anyone would report it to Drudge.

It seems likely that Dean looked at the McCain hype and believed it. It would be very rare for McCain not to consider the ramifications of every word he said. It seems that Dean has not learned. How could he be smart enough to be a Doctor?

I suspect that every candidate except a Clinton Stooge would fire McAuliffe the first day they had the authority to do so. But none of them would say it to anyone but their most trusted advisors. Dean has just made himself an enemy he can not afford to have. So many things that happen in the primary season are negotiated by the head of the DNC. It is stupid to tick him off.

Dean either has no control of himself or he has no control over his people. I think his time at the top will be limited. I do know one thing, that if Dean has a skeleton in his closet, Terry will have the proof in his hands no later than this Wednesday.

Sounds like the nefarious Brown Recluse, or it's cousin, the Northern Brown Spider.

I would try not to move the affected area much, as the venom is a necrotic, and can cause nerve damage.

Been there, done that....

Hey Guen, I saw your post about the reataurant the other night, and thought I'd add my 2 cents worth (as a seasoned pro).

Sounds like John was right. You simply had an unprofessional server. It is true that alcohol raises the check average, and thusly the tip. But to follow that line of thought is the mark of a true amateur.

You see, at the beginning or end of a shift is when you'll find fellow food service pros coming out to eat, as they don't want to experience the crowds that they constantly deal with. So if this cat was discriminating against you for being early or a non-drinker, he's just showing his inexperience.

Call the Mgr, and let him know about your experience. But if the food was good, give them another chance.

Thank-you for your gracious reply...

..You truly are a credit to your mom....

..Perhaps I will take your advice....the food was good....it really was.

Thank-you again....you're very kind to respond, when I know you're so busy!

It's tough to find a place that will custom cut anything without paying a premium.

UNBELIEVABLE Thank goodness I live in the Boonies where these new fangled trends are slow to surface. If I had to grind my own ham, we'd never have ham balls. This could really cause problems, since they are a family favorite.

Do you mean you can't walk into the supermarket, approach the meat counter (you DO have meat counters down there, don't you?), and ask to have your pork chops cut an inch thick? And if you are fortunate enough to have this service available, they charge you extra for 'custom cutting'?

Again, let me say how thankful I am to live in Iowa, where trends are slow to catch on.

Heck, freep me the phone number and some details, and I will call them for you. I have unlimited nation-wide calling on my cell phone. Don't you have a son named John? Or a wanna-be stepson 3 times removed? :>)

I'm back home. The concert went very well. I think my favorite piece was "Bugler's Holiday" by Leroy Anderson. It was very fun to play.
