AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 896) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | July 5, 2003 | All of Us

Posted on 07/05/2003 4:42:20 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

The United States has decide to try six suspected Al Qa'eda terrorists in military tribunals. The European Union has warned the United States not to use the death penalty or it would cause the international coalition to lose its integrity. [Ed. note: PUHLEASE!] Among the six designated are two British and one Austrailian.

An Iranian missile using a North Korean engine has been successfully tested. The tested missile has a range that will reach Israel.

And violence continues in Iraq: one American soldier was killed yesterday, and 12 wounded.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

You've seen this movie, John?

No, but I will ask Trill to rent it via her internet dvd rental thingy. (sorry for the technical talk) ;>)

I heard from Dad! He's handling the chemo much better than expected. We laughed and swapped anecdotes and prayed together tonight on the phone. He's very tired, but he's not overwhelmed by the effects. He told me I should stand off and poke him with a stick before I decide he's gone. LOL!

I do dearly love my father. He's mean and ugly and tough and surly and funny and loving. I am so grateful for this time we have together.

Severe storms forcast for tonite,,, the screen looks like they may go South of us. I'm headed out to carry water to the flowers,,, hoping to entice the moisture this way. I didn't have time to wash my windows, but I figure dragging hoses around the lawn is the next best thing I can do to assure they rains will come.

Oh do rent it. I believe this movie is right up your alley. Two Italian immigrants in the 1950's trying to make a go of a restaurant and get Americans to understand the finer points of Italian cooking. There is so much cooking (and good eating) in this movie, that you are guaranteed to be starving by the end of it. This movie was made in 1996, and I do believe that it launched a revival of Louis Prima's music.

So glad you had a great conservation with your Dad. Cherish your time with him. My prayers go to you and your family.

I am so grateful for the prayers from all of my friends, here and elsewhere.

On another front, Ericsson found some fairly serious money that they owe me and want to clear the accounts. I got the paperwork today. I was insolvent 2 weeks ago, got a slight reprieve, and am down to pocket change (literally) again.

So the timing is perfect. I suspect a Certain Hand in some of this. And I am grateful to Him.

Thank you for your prayers. I will/do cherish my time with him.

If you recall, at 40 years old, I asked my father for permission/to bless me before I re-enlisted. My mother was very much against it. I had served my time. Dad laid his hands upon me and blessed me in my endeavour.

Next Saturday, I'll have an excused absence, to work for the best Chef in Dallas for a day, but Sunday, I'll show up at 0-dark-thirty, clean, dry, and sober, in the uniform of the day to do my duty.

In the intervening time, between Saturday with the chef and Sunday at drill I'll spend with my Dad, and my little sister who is flying in from New Zealand. Dad will see me off with me in my uniform on Sunday morning.

I hope he is as proud of his son as his son is proud of him and his strength. I've large shoes to fill.

#98...Are pralines hard to make?

Whenever we go to St.Augustine, we always make time for Savannah's Sweets.....their only product are pralines that melt in your mouth!

Continued prayers on your dad's behalf.

(Just now picking black raspberry seeds from my teeth. Sister in Law graced us with one of her fantastic pies. Sugar crystals encrusted on the top crust. The woman's ability in the kitchen is quite intimidating)

Good Night, Rest well.

We've been standing out on the upstairs deck watching the storm move South of us. I guess I should have hired someone to wash my windows,, we really need rain.

The City just finished with their fireworks display. Trill's dog didn't like it. I sat on the roof and watched it. The ladies watched from the street.

The distant booms remind me of what our fore-fathers endured. Each boom would have meant men dead, or homes destroyed. American homes. On our streets. On our soil.

I'm proud to be an American. I'm very proud to be an American under arms. I pray that no foe kills Americans on American soil, ever again. I Remember the Trade Center, and the Pentagon, and Mr. Beamer..... Let's Roll!
