AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 894) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | July 3, 2003 | All of Us

Posted on 07/03/2003 4:14:24 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!!

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

President Bush is considering sending troops to Liberia.

While not throwing full weight behind a Constitutional Amendment to guarantee such a thing, the President did say he believed that marriage was indeed a union between a man and a woman.

Two separate incidents temporarily shut down subway service and the Brooklyn Bridge in Manhattan yesterday. The subway was closed in the southern part of the island after finding suspicious packages, while the bridge was shut down because a man reported to authorities he had been offered money to drive a car parked outside City Hall and park it on the Brooklyn Bridge. The car was found to be clean.

And research has shown that regular pot smokers are at greater risk of mental illness later in life.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Chamberlain was the unsung hero of the Civil War. Did you know Chamberlain was with Grant when Lee surrendered.

Chamberlain saved the Union..... that day at Gettysburg

So what color was the dirt from VB?

It was sort of a grayish color and of a sandy consistency.

They were pumping a second stage lagoon (mostly water), so the clothes weren't smelly, but there was this sandy stuff just ground into the jeans from the knees down. I had to wash some of them 3 times to get it out. I finally decided to put them in the dryer and let the dryer beat it out of them. It seems to have worked, but, let me tell you, the lint filter in the dryer was something to behold when I was finished.

:-)That is a good movie, and book too, IIRC.

speaking of movies, has anyone seen Bend it like Beckham??

Did Nita and Daisy arrive safely?

Iowa Granny, you need an industrial strength washer/dryer for those loads!

Heard from #2 son awhile ago. He's unexpectedly got a ride home from school for the weekend. So now both sons will be here.

I just don't know....when they're not here, nowadays, I don't miss them all that much. Life is full...and they're grown up and leading their lives... but just let them be coming home, and my heart leaps!

The DVD of Kelly's Heroes has been out for a while. I got it for my husband from Amazon.

Our favorite part is when the general played by Carroll O'Connor is listening to the advance on the radio.

"Jeez, they even have the gravediggers in there! Go, team, go!!"

LOL!

No, I didn't. Thanks. I love learning factoids about history.

I did find out tonight that he passed away the year my paternal Grand-father was born.

BTW---We're flying (not driving) to Green Bay next month - so no Akron stop

Green Bay is the site of a wedding (we had a French foreign exchange student in the 90's and she married an American)

Chamberlain took the formal surrender of Lee's army. He ordered his men to treat the Confederates with respect and honor. The Union army saluted as Lee left the field..

He ordered his men to treat the Confederates with respect and honor.

What do you expect? He was a teacher of philosophy and rhetoric at a girl's college. He had to be polite. ;>)

Joshua Chamberlain has always fascinated me. A college professor who became one of our greatest Generals.

Man I love this country!

Yup!! Must be a Mom thing. :-)

Sarah's class was very short tonight because of a test. She did well.

Good to have your two boys together. Hubby must be happy, too.

Well, today I took my wine barrel...slapped some black plastic in it...added water..a turtle spitter..some floating water plants....It's by the front doorway.

It seems as though all the flowers and things are in the back. When I come home I don't have much to catch my eye. Now I do.

Also planted some Asiatic lilies by the shed. The rate I'm going everything I want to do will be done by September. I don't mind. I'm having fun. :-)

Kurt...your interview was today??? How did it go? Praying all went well.

Enjoy your evening of Freeping and Smoking.

We're off to a wedding reception for neighbors. 50ish. Second marriage for both. Both grew up in this community. Both divorced their first spouses. It's just one of those things our little community is learning to adjust to,,,, for so many years, we had no divorces,, now it is not uncommon.

The reception is at an unairconditioned place. I'm wearing slax and sandals.

The wedding was in February, so I don't feel obligated to dress like I'm going to a wedding.

I'm helping with the Republican float at a big parade tomorrow morning, so I will be scarce.
