Why Flying Southwest Air Is Fun
A mother and her son were flying Southwest Airlines from Kansas City to Chicago.
The son (who had been looking out the window) turned to his mother and asked, "If big dogs have baby dogs and big cats have baby cats, why don't big planes have baby planes?"
The mother (who couldn't think of an answer) told her son to ask the stewardess. So the boy asked the stewardess, "If big dogs have baby dogs and big cats have baby cats, why don't big planes have baby planes?
The stewardess responded, "Did your mother tell you to ask me?"
The boy admitted that this was the case.
"Well, then, tell your mother that there are no baby planes because Southwest always pulls out on time. Your mother can explain it to you."

In my experience, attendants on Southwest in general are younger, more attractive, have a better attitude, and a higher IQ, than any other airline flying. Ya, I know, mere anecdotal evidence.

Look, this here is a company computer. I can't afford to buy a replacement. I have done spewed my coca-cola on the screen and keyboard tryin' not to laugh out loud in my cubicle.
So, when is Southwest gonna start flyin' outa Fresno?

I was on a Southwest flight from So. Calif. to Sacramento. The approach was fine, but when the plane touched down on the runway, it hit with a bit more jarring force than usual. As the plane taxied to the terminal, the stewardess came on the PA to welcome everyone to Sacramento, then said, "And we hope you all enjoyed that demonstration of Naval aviation upon landing here in Sacramento..."

My experience is SW is dirty crowded and old...but cheap. Hm. My experience is that the planes are clean, in good shape, and staffed by competent, friendly people. I've never had a delay longer than 20 minutes any time I've flown Southwest, nor have I experienced any problems with lost or rifled luggage.
I cannot say the same for American (13-hour delay in which they made NO offer to put us up in a hotel for the night, much less cover the costs of crappy airport food), America West (rifled luggage, items stolen from luggage, and a faulty plane that was greeted by a phalanx of rescue vehicles upon landing back at our point of takeoff), and United (lost luggage that damn near ruined our honeymoon).
If given my choice of flying any of those airlines, Southwest wins...hands down.
