Maybe you misunderstand the intent of a barf alert. It's to warn the reader that they may be reading something outrageously stupid, or looking a Hitlery pictures. It's actually a service to other FReepers.

Can people really take people seriously who post such drivel? What is the purpose? Yes, when posts contain such pictures as Helen Thomas. It gives the reader a chance to put the coffee cup down and swallow before opening thus saving the computer screen and keyboard from a spill.
