The word is "barf", not "vomit".
Besides, words like "vomit" are used in the greatest work of literature, the Bible.

I thought such alerts were to warn one of a liberal point of view in a legit (or semi-legit) article, not neccessarily drivel. Maybe we can start drivel alerts.

Why not? Programs have viewer discretion warnings. Movies and TV programs are rated. Give us a warning so we don't mess up the carpet before we get to a barf bag.

I like Barf Alerts. They are used to indicate that you're not a left wing plant posting some cockeyed story to "inform" us.

Please post here on the FR as you would speak to your co-workers, friends and family.I would be banned.

...aren't we conservatives suppossed to have some dignity, grace and a clear non-combative way of communicating with each other? You left out creativity and humor. Are you by chance an office worker at a utility?
To: Born in a Rage
Good post. We also don't need "double chunker with sauce on the side" alerts.

To: Born in a Rage
Maybe you misunderstand the intent of a barf alert. It's to warn the reader that they may be reading something outrageously stupid, or looking a Hitlery pictures. It's actually a service to other FReepers.
To: Born in a Rage
Yes. For one thing it lets us know that the liberal spew isn't being posted by some DU troll but rather a fellow conservative who understands the need to know one's enemies.

Question - Do we really need to post articles with added extra non-news comments such as 'vomit alert'; 'puke alert'; 'hold muh beer alert'? Can people really take people seriously who post such drivel? What is the purpose? Are we becoming so used to seeing the word 'vomit' splashed across the latest posts that it doesn't affect us anymore? Yes, when posts contain such pictures as Helen Thomas. It gives the reader a chance to put the coffee cup down and swallow before opening thus saving the computer screen and keyboard from a spill.

Vomit alert is easier to type than an "Imagine Helen Thomas ( or Hillary) naked alert".

Without barf alerts, how would you know what articles to ZOT?
