We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
The leftist swine media are back on a rant about Gitmo - The New York Times is carrying a piece that laments about the conditions the detainees had to go through. The Times did say there wasn't any physical mistreatment, just isolation such that some detainees thought of suicide. Still waiting to read their expose on the families of the Trade Center victims and how they feel about all this.
Ed Gillespie will likely be replacing Marc Racicot as head of the RNC when the committee votes next month.
And as to what must be frustrating to the Criminal Party, newly released financial statements from the Administration show the President's advisors as somewhat better off than the average American but, even in the words of the Washington Pravda, not rich.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I will tell you about the Clintons. In the deep south we have the Red Neck Club of the South. ONLY red necks can belong. The Clintons (bonified, regestered & certifeid red necks) are so sorry they were kicked out and WITH fanfare I tell you and it has been voted on to NEVER allow them to belong again. Now that is insult upon insult. If you happen to go to jail your membership is taken away while there but restored to you when you get out. Not the Clitons, gone, banashed for evermore.

On a more serious note, there is a hostage situation in Plainfield, IL at a bank. Fox is showing it live now. Prayers for the hostages, their families and the police officers.

Well, folks, it is time for me to head on home in the usual weather of Seattl, er, Washington. Rain.

Dearest Molly...YOU and your Hubby made all that possible. It was your kind hearts, positive attitudes, smiles and genuine
goodness that made the people open up their world to you.
I know I'm blessed to know you, my friend.
Another little break from working on the stream to get dinner started. A little fine tuning with rocks and pebbles and I think it will be done.
Then...a little landscaping around the stream.
Back out. Later.

(((lysie))), and I you! Good you spent the day outside, as the rain returns tomorrow...
Ack!! The head of Simon and Schuster on Cavuto lauding that fakey book!

I took a couple times to go outside today and work. Just came in from watering.
Our neighbor's son, a big, 40-ish bachelor, stopped to tell me that one of the wild cats, Smokey, whom he had tamed, got hit by a car and killed this morning. I said I was so sorry, as that really was a cute little cat and he was making up to people.
Neighbor said he was sure that I would want to know, as I had treated the cat with kindness. Then he started to cry! Then I started to cry, so I came inside.
Heavens! Mr. Marple will think I am nuts if I tell him this!
Anyway, Smokey is being buried and I am bummed.
Going to make a light casserole for supper. It was a sunny day here today and I did get some weeding and deadheading done. I also took a nap because of my sinuses acting up. Must be the changes in temperature and humidity. Ick.

#94...Truly a beautiful narration!
Pure Americana :)))
Don't you just love crossing through this great land of ours!!
I remember a very early morning while traveling through Texas, I saw a real cowboy riding his horse around the cows-.. and the dust was flying and the sun was 'just up'...and it was all so picturesque!!

Greetings all. School today had a nightmarish quality to it. I baked 5 genoise cakes, and every single one of them fell. Every one. Chef watched us make cake number 5 and he said we did everything right. It fell.
So I am going to try one here at the house tonight. If it falls, I'm going to give up. Chef and I are scheduled to meet early tomorrow to figure out why it's not working.
I'm not ever going to be a baker or pastry chef. Ever.

#107...It's OK to cry with your neighbors....
..see, they already knew you cared!!!
..My neighbor corraled me yesterday to explain why she has pinkish/greenish hair...
..she's way too elderly for pinkish/greenish hair, but tried a new hair product on her silvery hair, and somehow got purple/red, and after she washed it 10 times, it was pinkish/greenish....
..so I listened to the whole story.....and ran inside to get her a vial of my special conditioner.
That's what neighbors are for....to commisserate with each other!!!
But OK, just don't tell Mr. Marple about the tears......it might scare him :>)

You know, I really don't need anymore angst and excitement than I get here on my little street in suburbia. People who pine for grand exciting livs must be REALLY bored! LOL!

John, over the years I have tried to bake home-mae bread. Invariably, it is a disaster. I have tried bread flour and regular flour; dry and cake yeast; various recipes; letting it rise in a warm oven or on the top of the stove; brushing it with egg white or not; baking in a slow oven or a hot one. NOTHING works...I always get a leaden loaf with a thick crust, often gooey inside.
I think I am just not a bread-baker. Maybe cakes are that way for you.

Cali is my cat.. not my state
*g*
I am an Ohio gal for now
I lived in Fla ( 3 X) & remember Publix quite well... loved it is a store that had everything & lots of gormet items..
Now here in Ohio Heinens is about as close as you can come. But many of the large stores are having full gormet sections of deli; produce; wines; bakery items...
Heinensis Family owned NE ohio stores started past decade or so( Iam not sure of time, I have been here 10 years +) this go round. Probably where publix was MANY years ago.

With three hours of instruction, I could have you baking a decent loaf of bread.
I'm thinking that Chef is going to have to work for a living and spend some extra time with me to figure this out. At $88/day for instruction, I need to leave the class with whatever skill this is that I'm missing. ;>)

When I was Chief of Police in Pearl, MS I would bake bread, two loaves three times a week and take it to little ole elderly widow ladis in town. Wasn't no bother cause I got big smiles and big, big thank yous. Little thing makes the older generation grateful.

Oh poor Smokey. He had a hard life , except for the time your kind neighbor cared for him.
Guenevere - The West! Don't get me started! lol
The rain has stopped, and I just may go out after supper to check on a few things in the garden...like are the impatiens growing yet?? They are a little, but the chipmunks keep nibbling away, too.
Does anyone here have to use Ropel like I do early in the season???
To: JRandomFreeper; gulfcoast6
OK, now I am really feeling stupid. Also, my brother-in-law used to run a bakery, and he says there is nothing to it. Grrr.
Well, anyone who could teach me would certainly earn their pay! LOL!

Got all new door facings today, white to replace the stained wood ones and gotta say, it looks good. Going for new doors and floor moldings this week. Sil gets a week of his vaccation next week and we are going to finish. Sure am glad and I really fought changing it. See, the YOUNGER geneartion has good taste and knows what is the right thing to do.
Now its off to d house for supper then to take my older d home. Be back later.
