EEEEEK!
What the heck is this?
Yes, I know it is a frog.... But I DON'T THINK WE HAVE FROGS LIKE THIS HERE!
Seriesly, I have lived in Washington state my whole life, and I have never seen anything like this in the wild here. Just little tree frogs. This thing is huge! It was hopping across my yard so I caught it.

You are the MAN! That looks like a great place if you are a BF. You did good.

Great thread.
Those things have a beautiful call, actually.

I think I deduced where he must have come from.... A neighbor not too far away has a big fish pond that was kindof a cool spot until the other neighbor logged his property, and then it got too much sun and had turned green and stunk to high heaven. I bet he lived in that pond and it couldn't support him any more. He probably was headed off for a new pond, or was lookin' for love... (in all the wrong places) :~D

Very cool. Looks like he'll be happy there...
...or... now he's really ticked about how far he has to hop home. :-)

You're a good samaritan. That is indeed bullfrog heaven. Looks good for some bass fishing too.
Today must be Save-An-Amphibian day today. I rescued a snapping turtle in my back yard from a gaggle of marauding stray cats. Those .22 longs with the little bird shot in them really do put on a show when you turn them on a cat.

Hope there are no cats around.

If a cat is gonna get it, the cat better be a good swimmer.

Where's the picture of the giant bass jumping up to eat the bullfrog?
To: HairOfTheDog
I believe he'll probably consider that spot an "upgrade".
Nice work.

You're a good samaritan. You don't know the half of it! ;~D I called my Dad and he was worried I would want to keep it. I would save everything!

Mostly Rainbow Trout I think in that lake.

It will get the cat, not vice versa.

the former xspup had a frog/toad of some sort last summer that he was batting all over the yard in attempts to dismember it. i was talking to a dog breeder last weekend that said there is a certain kind of frog/toad that will send out some kind of poison if it is bothered. have you ever heard of that? i was trying to get the poor little thing away from xspup, bc it was desperately trying to play dead so he would leave it alone.

This prompted me to check out your homepage which is just great. My horse was Mr. Bayberry. Love the little Lumpkin.
