We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good Morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
A 4.5 magnitude quake struck in western Kentucky.
GAG ALERT - A&E has announced plans for a movie about 97's life in the White House: A fair and balanced personal history. Wonder if we'll learn about the billing records or Vince Foster.
However, Fox News polling has shown that, in a hypothetical matchup, President Bush would trounce UOx42 by 21 points.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

You can prune and shape your shrubs now. Just remember, if they flower later in the year, you will probably be cutting the buds off. You'll also be encouraging them to grow some more. It's a vicious cycle. Enjoy!

HAR!
Well ... they recognize it, as I am learning ... but do not allow it to be the foundation on which all else is built .... I am now reading
The Case For Christ .... which boggles my brain ....
/john .... I have learned that pain is inevitable .... misery is optional ....

The thing that really had us uneasy is that boy-child
never calls just to chat .... he only calls when there is news to impart or specific questions to be asked. Major stuff like "I bought a new car" or "I'm changing jobs" or "Is it ok to buy a house with concrete slab rather than on a foundation?" .... never,
ever just "Hey! How are you?"
So a call from him gets our attention.

In case you didn't notice,,,,, I was thoroughly enchanted with this young man. I gave him a 'republican' coffee cup with the logo on it to use as a pencil jar at college and some cash.
Of course, he was 'my' student, too. I taught him how to do phone canvasing.
And yes, the very thought that those kids in the show ring at the County Fair excell in other areas is cause for pause. But many do. There are wonderfully talented kids out here in the boonies. Unfortunately, we seldom hear about them because their names aren't showing up on police blotters.

Funny you should say that because I had trouble closing my
italics tag on that last post .....
At least John Robinson has fixed it so we can only do that to ourselves and not to the whole world now ...... though that did make for some really fun times .... :-)

I do not know much about golf, but I am learning.
It takes five hours and more to play an 18 hole round.
If you are fair skinned, as I am then you should wear a hat. I learned that a while back.
I golf at most three times in a year. Today, was the first time of the three times in 2003.
Radix heard a Bull Frog. Radix saw a deer! Snapping turtles are abundant, and geese rule the continent. Oh, and there is water everywhere, the only thing that is in short supply these days around here is sunshine.
There has also been a shortage of postings by wonderful persons as well. That seems to be changing. It is as I said, recently, nice to see you out here.

I used to do the same thing to Mom and Dad. Now that I'm the parent of grown children, I try to make sure I call at least once a week to say "HI!". Nothing like having the shoe on the other foot to change one's behavior.

Thanks. It's not the size
per se that bothers me so much .... but they are badly out of shape .... sticking out all over the place instead of being the neat little mounds like they had on display at the nursery where we bought them.
The next time it's not pouring down rain, I'll get out the clippers and set to.

Har!
Radix .. I have a theory about ... golfers which has proven true over the years and would most likely get me drubbed off FreeRepublic .... so, wisely ... I will not do any further expounding on same.
I am glad to see you too, and you compliment me, sir. Thank you.

This has been a long, busy, and productive weekend with my Uncle, but sleep has been in short supply. I should call it a night.
Late Breaking News! Trill is safely at her destination in CA after a 3 day drive.
I think I'm ready for school tomorrow, and I get to sleep in until about 6:30. So it's time to be gone.
God bless us all. Each, and every one.

I've
missed something ....
lots of things, 'tis true .... what
bush is after needin' pruning?
Here it is ... I work in a nursery now .... just in the yard ... feels awkward and fun at the same time .... having had my own buisness ... humbling and expanding all at once ... I've found customers are amazed when they happen on to someone who actually knows plants and plant behavior .... LOL!
There's a loading dock where big orders are to go ... and, today, over the speakers ... the manager called out ..... "Could we move illstillbe's sold items?! We're running out of room!"
I've more in common with Lupe and Trini in loading than those with whom I work directly .... but I digress ....
What's the bush which needs whacking?!

I mentioned it in #327 .... but, alas, I don't remember the name of the plants. With your fantastic memory, you may recall for I talked about them last year .... planted them in front of the bay window along with the Encore azaleas.
They have long, pointed leaves, white clusters of blooms, and make purple berries.
Big help, aren't I? ...... asking for advice and you have to figure out what I'm asking about ..... *grins*

Well, I did go nuts at the airport buying books. Good thing too, we sat on the runway for 2 hours in Atlanta because of bad weather in Cincinnati. I read almost 3 books today. Good thing I bought four books. (I love to read)

Welcome home! Hope you get to stay put for a spell ..... :-)
Are you going to stay with your parents for a while longer or find a place of your own? Or am I misremembering that you gave up your other digs when you came East?

I just got home from a very loooooong day. What could go wrong did go wrong, from the taxi losing power 2 blocks away from the hotel, to sitting on the runway in Atlanta for 2 hours and missing my flight to SLC. I was supposed to be home by about 6:30 pm, I pulled in at 11:30. I am tired, and very very very happy to be home. I almost cried as we flew over the Great Salt Lake. And I live in a desert (strange how I am reminded of that fact when I fly home from somewhere with lots of green vegetation.) I did find plenty of books to read and buy, good thing, with all the waiting, I read 2 books, and am almost finished with a third book. This week I plan to go apartment/townhouse/house looking. No use wearing out my welcome at my parents' home. Talk to you all later.
