We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good Morning!!
Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
A 4.5 magnitude quake struck in western Kentucky.
GAG ALERT - A&E has announced plans for a movie about 97's life in the White House: A fair and balanced personal history. Wonder if we'll learn about the billing records or Vince Foster.
However, Fox News polling has shown that, in a hypothetical matchup, President Bush would trounce UOx42 by 21 points.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I didn't use vanilla beans. I used pure vanilla from Mexico. My in laws brought it home from their winter vacations each year. It was in a bottle the size of a fifth of whiskey. I rationed it out, saving enough to prepare one batch of i/c for the Christmas feast.
Those were the days.

And when is your interview with Babwa Walters? Perhaps he'll have to be content to be interviewed by kayak & Granny.
Congrats on winding up your project, nic. We look forward to seeing a little more of you around here.

Lol! Thanks, though!
This is why there's no relief in finishing it, for a whole 'nuther work begins. I've got a few signings and lectures set up over the summer, but, alas, no Baba Wawa...

Galleys proofed, and put to bed? Congrats. Lord knows that's a good feeling.
I'm going to have to call it a night. Early is early in the AM.
God bless us all. Each, and every one.

I'd be far more honored by a Kay & Granny interview than anything from Baba Wawa!
Thanks, Granny.

How about a cup of strong black coffee to celebrate?

You'd probably prefer something stronger but I'm a teetotaler so don't "do" alchoholic beverages .... LOL!

Thanks, John. Yeah, I've been working on revisions, proofs and the index for months now. I'm itching for the next project. I haven't been to the Library of Congress since last year, and I miss it. When I get back, probably in the Autumn, I'll look up old recipes for you, as I promised.
G'night to ya.

The next project is a narrative of the election of 1912. I'd rather move on to some other topic, but I've got so much left to say on the period and so much research unfulfilled that I have to stick with it. So I'm stuck in the Taft period for another three years....
Seems kinda silly to spend three years writing about one year. At least this last book covered four years. I hope folks find it interesting, or a good read, at least.

Good morning! Two topics I neglected to address yesterday.
1. Indiana's gardeners are in an uproar because Purdue and the USDA are changing most of the state's climate zone to 6 from 5. This changes the date of the last expected frost, etc. and what plants are winter-hardy in this area. This is based on a ten-year record of warmer winter temperatures. I personally think it is foolishness, and intend to operate as if I am in Zone 5.
2. Indiana University has a new president . His name is Adam Herbert and he comes from Florida, and he is a black Republican. His biography looks extremely interesting, and Governor Bush had some very complimentary words for him. I am very pleased to see liberal weirdo Miles Brand depart, although I assume that he will now commence in ruining the NCAA.
