I love to play cards (any game) but can't find anyone to play with me :( Guess I'll have to teach my kids to play a few card games when they get a little older. My nanny started teaching me to play gin rummy when I was 5. Loved cards ever since.

I saw Tom Petty once with Michael Stipe at Shoney's Restaurant here in town once (Stipe is from here and comes here a lot, or use to) and he looked like a street bum. Seriously, his clothes looked dirty and ratty and his hair unwashed.

I've been a stay at home for all but 3 months since my 2 1/2 yr old was born and I've been begging hubby to let me go find a hotel room alone for a weekend but I haven't gotten it yet. He promised me though that I can once I'm done with breastfeeding. I swear sometimes breastfeeding feels more like a bondage experience rather than a bonding experience everyday.

I can't explain why, but I like Kid Rock. Maybe it's because I can relate a little since i grew up mostly in slummy trailor parks or housing projects until I was 13.

In middle school the female teacher that taught sex ed to the girls actually gave details on how to masturbate properly to achieve orgasm. I still can't believe she taught it and no parents complained. But I doubt any of the students said anything to their parents about it to cause complaints.

It's kindof like the "a cheater is going to cheat whether there is temptation or not" idea... many kids are going to be bad regardless of involved parents or not. I know I raised hell *seriously* bad at 16 even though my parents tried to be very involved. It just made me more creative about getting around their rules without getting caught. I did eventually get caught though and ended up in private christian school for a couple years. I still didn't truly calm down though until I had my son. I still have my moments though. Get me away from the kids for a night and I turn into the devil's wife.

Wow, I'm impressed. I was raised going to church 3 times a week and expected to be the good girl (dad is a preacher) but once I turned 16 sex was pretty much ALL I thought about. Maybe it was Preacher's Daughter Syndrome...

Thanks for the encouragement. I stayed retired from playing about 6 months, then that old familiar itch started up again - that's why I'm playing in the surf band. Good to get back to my roots! I figure I'll be in my wheelchair in the nursing home, trying to put a band together. I've really become a fan of old-timey country the last few years, and I think my songwriting will be along those lines. Plus I just bought a house in the country. Yee-haw!
