Bridge Over Troubled Waters?! YESSS!!! I love that song - a SINGER's song. I can't wait!
The way I figure it, they are both friends, they pray together - that's good. If Ruben wins, Clay will get a wonderful recording contract with Neil Sedaka, or basically whoever he wants to sign with. If Clay wins, it will be a testament to his versatility and range. Either way, it's good. Either way, both young men will have a good-to-great music career ahead of them. We don't have a Nikki McKibbin situation percolating here, and that's good. And both young men have had their talent showcased nationally already. (But I'm voting for Clay!)

This is no lie. About 6 weeks ago, my wife and daughter were out, and my son and I just gotted talking about music. I was whipping out some CDs and playing him some tunes. Anyway, he was talking about American Idol, asking what I thought each one should sing. Anyway, after about 4 or 5 songs, I said "this one, this is the song Clay needs to sing. If he can sing it, and nail it, he'll win."
The song was Bridge Over Troubled Water.
I think he pulled it out with that last performance. I think Rueben was going to take it until that.

I'm not in a fighting mood tonight. If you can't see that they have been biased in Rubens favor for a long time it's because you don't want to see it. I like Ruben. He has talent but he is not as superior to everybody else as they make it seem.

A live gospel choir? Either way, cool! He's got the power in his voice to front them.

When Ruben was singing his song I was thinking that it would be wonderful if Clay sang Bridge Over Troubled Water....or Wind Beneath Your Wings. Both songs make me cry.
Clay made me cry......

Clay wanted to have that last note be the last note heard in the competition. He couldn't have set it up better. It was also stupid for Simon to give fans of Clay an excuse to dial more, since that's not what Simon wants to happen. Simon didn't do anything to scare Ruben voters to call. I still say Clay by 10 points.
