In Mexico, they serve a shot of Tequila with a glass of beer and a glass of "Sangria" which is like a bloody mary mix, not a spiced wine like it is everywehere else.

That brings back some memories of Don Julio...thank goodness we were already in our hotel.

More or less coming back out from a mini flood.
It WAS interesting to watch torrential downpours when the weathermen all uniformly stated with a straight face that it was supposed to be only partly cloudy for Memorial Day.
*chuckle*

Ah, to be a weatherman...

They only fall off on perfectly clear days.

Come on Nully, you're an engineer.
The trouble with early carbon fiber composites was inconsistency and unpredictable fatigue life.
I have never flown on any of the earl model Airbus planes for that reason. I also did my best to avoid the early production 737-200s for the same reason. I believe the Boeings have all had their small composite parts replaced with newer ones.

And the proof of this is that the fleet was grounded when a tail fell off and the crash killed a whole buncha people...

Great article Ace.. I missed it earlier. It's true that some single Mothers have to work..and my daughter is going thru it now, but there are plenty of two parent homes where they don't, and shouldn't. You can't convince me or her that her child is happier now.. No way..but unless she marries again.. she has no choice..

I have many fond memories of going home after school and having my Mom there, and so did some of my friends.. Their Mom's were working,.. yes, even then.. Some people always lived for the almighty buck..but it's more for toys and goodies now..and not for the good of the kids..

Since there is no way to test and see which units are weak and which not, the alternatives were to either assume this was a one of a kind accident and let it pass or to assume it is common and ground the entire fleet, probably permanently, because manufacturing new tail assemblies would take years and end up costing too much. The airlines are too financially fragile right now to take the second alternative unless there are more crashes.

What surprised me was that the Govt. didn't claim it was terrorism, even when it wasn't in order to whip up support for the war on terror. At the time it happened, it was not certain that the publics resolve would hold up for a long term campaign. They wasted a perfectly good accident through a frivolous regard for the facts.

Yep, FBI...They wanted to check out one of my pistols that may have been used in the murder of a Federal prosecuter. They were looking for a Makarov pistol with a Federal Arms replacement barrel....Got my name from the barrel dealer...
So, now all you people know a suspected murderer.....Don't that just make your day...lol

Oh - that federal prosecutor who was shot at his desk through the window? The rabid liberal activist prosecutor? The one who had enemies even on his own side and was a perfect victim to push their own anti-gun agenda? That prosecutor? The one whose murderer fled on foot? Quite a trick, Westy! I'm proud of you *LOL*
