New Roswell Witness! [81 year old wife of involved sgt]
UNKNOWN COUNTRY Daily News of the Edge ^ | 11 APR 2003 | ANNE ROBBINS, ANNE STRIEBER ED

Posted on 05/17/2003 12:01:07 PM PDT by Quix

Anne Robbins now lives in Midland, Texas. She's the widow of a career military man who was stationed in Roswell during the Roswell crash in July, 1947. She remembers the description of the saucer that her husband, Technical Sergeant Ernest Robert Robbins, told her he helped recover and the three small beings that were found outside the craft. Now 84 years old, Robbins has never before spoken publicly about Roswell, but she now says that what her late husband saw was not a downed weather balloon.

Seated in a meeting room at the Odessa Meteor Crater Museum, she said, "We had been to a dinner party at the NCO [non-commissioned officers] club on the base and didn't get home until 10:30 or 11. We'd already gone to bed but weren't yet asleep when everything outside lit up like it was daylight. It was like that for what seemed like several minutes, and we both assumed that it was probably helicopters from the base with searchlights on." Soon afterwards, her husband received a phone call and told her he had to report to the base. "I just assumed that there had been a plane crash somewhere nearby," she says. "But I couldn't figure why my husband, a sheet-metal man who repaired planes, was called in."

She was even more puzzled when he returned home the 18 hours later, with his uniform wrinkled and damp. "I asked him what had happened to him, why he was so wet, and he told me he'd had to go through the decontamination tank at the base. I asked, 'In your clothes?' and he said, 'They were what I was wearing when I was out there.' He told me, 'Well, I guess you might as well know; it's going to be in the papers. A UFO crashed outside of Roswell.'

"I told him he was crazy. 'No,' he replied, 'I'm not.' I don't remember him being particularly shocked or very emotional about it. In fact, he seemed cool as a cucumber. He just made it clear to me that he wasn't going to talk about it."

The following morning, she says, "I asked him again if it was really true and he said, yes, it was." When she asked what the UFO looked like, he explained that "if you took two saucers and put them together, that's what it looked like." On the top layer, there were oblong-shaped windows all the way around the craft. He had not looked inside. "I asked him if there was anybody on it. He said, 'I can tell you this much: There were three people. One was dead and two were still alive. I can't tell you anything more.'"

It was not until several days later that Sergeant Robbins finally agreed to drive his wife out to the crash site. By then, all debris had been cleared away. "He didn't say much of anything until we got to a place where there was this big burned spot, a perfect circle so black that it was shiny. No normal fire could have made something like that." It looked like the sand had been melted and turned into a sheet of black glass. "This," he said, "is where I was for 18 hours."

"On the drive home," she says, "I asked him what happened to the spaceship, what happened to the people who were on it. He said, 'I can't tell you that; don't ask me any more.'" That was the last time he ever spoke about it, until he retired from the Air Force in 1961. He died of a heart attack in January, 2000.

Following his retirement, the family moved to Saginaw, near Fort Worth, and he worked first for General Dynamics, then LTV, as an aircraft repairman. "It was years later, when our kids were in high school, that our son Ronald was working on some kind of report on unidentified flying objects and asked his father to tell him about what happened back in Roswell. He didn't say much, basically just what he'd told me years earlier," she says.

"But you know how kids are. Ronald kept asking questions, like what the men found at the crash looked like. Finally, Papa [as she called him] got a pencil and drew this pear-shaped head with large black eyes. Their skin, he said, was brown and they had no nose, no mouth. When Ronald asked him what their bodies looked like, all he would say was, 'Son, you don't want to know about that.'"

She says, "[Ronald] wouldn't talk to you about it…Barbara, my daughter, tells me, 'Daddy's dead, don't bring it up.'"

"All I remember," says their daughter, Barbara Wattlington, "was Dad saying he was stationed in Roswell and that a UFO crashed there."

The last time Anne Robbins remembers her husband talking about it was a few years before his death, when they sat in their Saginaw living room one evening, watching a show about Roswell on TV. "I asked him, 'Was it a hoax?' and all he said was, 'It's the truth. It did land.' I asked him, 'Well, if it did, where is it?' He again said he couldn't tell me that."

She says, "I could never figure out why an airplane repairman would be called out in the middle of the night to participate in the investigation of a crashed UFO." Only after filing her husband's death certificate with military officials in Washington, D.C., did she learn that he had intelligence clearance during his time in Roswell. "That UFO they found didn't just fly away, so where is it?" she says. "And what happened to the people on it? I still say the Air Force knows what happened. Someday, I hope, we might find out the truth."

No she does not have a computer or a digital camera...I wish she would get at least a computer, but every time I ask her if she is going to get one, she just says, "Hell, no"....shes 80 now, and not really very well...

All three of her kids have computers, as well as all her grown grandchildren, and we all wish she would get a computer, but its just not going to happen...

So for the time being, patience is called for, to see this painting...

I respect the point about her lying.

AND I DEPLORE HER HAZARD TO THE COUNTRY IN THE MISSILE AREA AND HAVE BEFORE YOU POINTED IT OUT.

But I have also found that people are or can be VERY, VERY COMPARTMENTALIZED.

I suppose an added point of interest TO ME in this situation, is that long, long ago while prayerfully pondering about all this and reading something about Werner Von Braun and the space program,

I either felt or asked God and then received an impression that he MUST be in the know regarding UFO's. I then received a stronger than usual impression that eventually he would be disclosing something even if only on his death bed or just before. I felt it would be outside the normal statement about such matters.

So when I came across Dr Rosin's assertions, they fit.

I agree she is a hazard to the Republic and the Constitution as I see it.

I don't automatically believe she's 100% unreliable about everything in the vast field.

Maybe that relates to my being a shrink and you more of a technology etc. expert. I don't know.

I'd have to track down my book.

Years ago supposedly.

I initially read it in a very flakey sort of source book--almost a memeographed sort of thing.

But I felt in my spirit there was SOMETHING going on in Dulce.

Then this later edition sort of book came along. And then my relative had a connection with a source mentioned in the book.

AND, a FREEPER let me know in a very covert way that THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUS going on at Dulce/Los Alamos.

At this point, I'm not too eager to say too much on the net--especially unprivately. It's a really freaky set of information. Who knows what the truth is. But caution seems at least more than a little wise.

The FREEPER was extra, extra cautious.

I need to make a trip to Taos which goes through Dulce. I'm not exactly looking forward to it. Though I suspect I'll be brave enough to stop at the local church and inquire somewhat.

The Apaches in the area--it is their Reservation--have long had plenty of stories about such things.

The info is probably available on the net through a Google search.

Basically, some USA military guard or construction types working at some of the lower levels--talking in 100's of floors below the surface potentially--stumbled on proof that the ET's had violated their agreement with the US gov and were imprisoning Americans etc. undocumented and against their will.

A contingent of USA military was formed and they attempted to release the American captives from the Reptoids, I think it was. They failed and a number of deaths were exacted on all sides before a new truce/stalemate was established.

One of the more common purported agreements between ET's and the USA covert government was that they would give us technology in exchange for us allowing them to take tissue samples from cattle, other animals and some people. We supposedly said OK as long as the ET's gave us a list of the people they abducted etc.

The discovery at Dulce was that obviously thousands of people were being abducted that were not listed. Now, the evidence supposedly is in the millions--above 3,000,000.

Wellllll, you asked.

Who knows what's true.

But have a very ugly feeling about Dulce.

The universe is so vast, I cannot imagine how anyone could believe that earth hosts the only intelligent life. Closed minds think that we're the only ones. I would rather have imagination, and wonder what might be.

I lived very close to Dulce for over 2/3 of my life. I have friends and relatives who live there now. The only strange thing about Dulce is that anyone would want to live there.

And it's not very close to Taos or Los Alamos.

That's comforting . . .

though there have been conflicting reports on both sides for years.

I meant that Dulce was a lot closER to Farmington than I'd thought.

The deep tunnels supposedly go to Los Alamos as well as to Sandia Labs, area 51, it's successor area in Utah etc.

You know what, I would have more respect for these aliens if they just invaded the planet, and used us to drain our precious bodily fluids.

Just ask Jack Ripper in Doctor Strangelove about this.

I know. I agree.

But there are lots of people with conveniently narrow minds for their own comfort zones or even for their sanity.

Puacity this, you little cretin. I just love being lectured to by children. Show me and everyone else some DOCUMENARY evidence and I'll give your views some credence.

My goodness!

Testy is your normal mode?

I don't consider it a perjorative at all to have had different experiences. Just a normal fact of life.

I was trying to suggest you might consider being less arrogant and smug about your own construction on reality.

I realize now that being less arrogant and smug may be beyond your capacities and certainly beyond your inclinations.

I have no need in the least to remotely begin to comply with your demands. I enjoy researching the topic; putting thousands of puzzle pieces on the shelf; looking for correlations and disconfirmations and seeing what falls off the shelf.

There's plenty of documentary stuff out there. Open minds find it and find it interesting. That would likely rule you out.

I just want to know WTF you are responding to? I never sent you a testy response. I had a chat with another poster. You are wa-ay too important in your own mind.

If anyone is arrogant here, it is you.

If there had really been a UFO landing and if the government really wanted to cover it up, this guy would not have been able to drive his wife to the site a few days after it happened. I'm no conspirator, but even I know that the government would think to remove the charred ground where the thing landed. If I were a scientist working on the incident, I'd want all of the ground preserved so that I could keep taking samples of it. I certainly wouldn't want it exposed to wind, rain, and the curious eyes of family members. This lady's story has too many holes.

NOT NECESSARILY.

Our government could have been as sloppy as described in the beginning stages of such things.

They CAN be very good.

AND

The CAN be very sloppy with incredibly important things.
