Lone Star Chat
Texas ^ | Saturday, May 10, 2003 | A Texan

Rally for America!

Our Texas Locale page recently got very busy on the unusual topic of Ouija boards and such. Archy suggested a Lone Star Thread That Will Not Die. Like those darn Hobbit threads with 30,000+ posts.

This is not my thread and I'm not going to baby sit it every day. I just gathered the kindling and y'all have to start the fire.

You're welcomed. I went to vote yesterday. I should NOT have waited until the last day of early voting. Still, it only took about 25 minutes from walk-in to walk-out, so not too bad.

I voted YES for Proposition 12 ! ...

I think that is the right choice, Meek. I am planning on voting the same way. I know of extremely competent doctors getting their clocks cleaned with lawsuits about bogus claims. If we have no control of suits and malpractice insurance, medicine will have no choice but to become socialized...and then what kind of care are we going to receive?

I'm thinking the same, M&M. Maybe it will put a stop to all the frivolous lawsuits. Thankfully in a 65 thousand town the wait is never bad, so I didn't vote early.

Hi Cindy! I placed a vote for Texas, but I didn't tell them about the Coral snakes we've killed in our yard, LOL!!

Yeah there was guy there thinking about moving to the "hill country". He wanted to move somewhere where there were no snakes or snow. I didn't have the heart to tell him that it snows at times and about the "rattlers". Figured once he got there he would like it so much that it wouldn't matter. lol

The ones who are leaving aren't bad...they just can't stand the way things are.

LOL, I saw that. That's why I mentioned the Coral snakes. Do we have any states that DON'T have snakes?

I don't think so. Maybe parts of Alaska where it stays cold?

It has been over 60 days since my husband and I applied for our CCW. He got a letter stating they were going to take another 120 days to investigate him. I haven't received anything. We are clean. It took the FBI 15 minutes to clear us to buy handguns. Should I start calling them or will it only slow things down? This isn't right. Is there a Texas non-goverment organization I can contact? I thought about calling my senator but I don't want to tick the processors off just yet.

Cindy,

Try asking the Texas State Rifle Association.
