You can't change your home page back?
You might have to make it into a boat anchor!

Go to
http://www.mozilla.org/ and download mozilla. When you first run it go to edit preferences and disable popups. Dump MicroSoft InternetExplorer. Trust me. Mozilla will solve the problem. Do it now.

Does anyone know of a software that actually FINDS the culprit that causes this?
Somethng that does more than just stop the pop ups?
I would like to delete the actual software code that causes it!

I got that when I downloaded a thing called "gatorware". It was on someone's page as a help little thing to have to view their page better. Couldn't purge my system of it fast enough.

Download ad aware, the free version. Nuke the spyware on your computer. Spyware is responsible for a lot of popups.

I use AdAware, but I also make sure to run SpyBot. Unfortunately, I don't have the link for download right in front of me, but its probably used by more IT departments than AdAware.

Did you get hit with Xupiter? That is the worst thing to get hit with on the web. They will throw 1000s of ads at one time on, and as you click them off, often people accidentally hit "agree" to download their software and changes/highjacks their home page.

Try running Spybot Search and Destroy instead. It has regular updates that you can download from the program and is a bit more flexible than Ad Aware. You can find it on download.com or tucows.com I think. Spybot also sniffs out cookies that invite spyware in.
You might also run Norton Anti-Virus. Install ZoneAlarm to see if you have something unwanted talking to it's master without your knowlege.
