Did you get hit with Xupiter? That is the worst thing to get hit with on the web. They will throw 1000s of ads at one time on, and as you click them off, often people accidentally hit "agree" to download their software and changes/highjacks their home page.

I got hit with that damn XUPITER a few months ago... it is the WORST, just as you described. It was like my computer was being attacked by thousands of pop-up ads in a matter of seconds! :(
