AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 828) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | April 28, 2003 | All of Us

Posted on 04/28/2003 4:16:10 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

Ten Iraqis have filed a complaint in a Belgian court accusing Gen. Franks of war crimes in Iraq. Belgium has a law that allows their courts to try war crimes committed by anyone anywhere in the world - "universal jurisdiction" as it is called by some. The United States is warning Belgium if the case is taken up it will have serious diplomatic repercussions.

Heard much from the Hollywild left lately? Probably not. Most of the anti-war stars have decided to beat a solid retreat in the face of a lightning quick war with broad support across the country.

The Unitd States is considering moving its main mid-east air command center from Saudi Arabia to Qatar.

And today is, or was, Saddam's birthday.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

I am pretty sure the vet will clean her up before making any incisions, so you probably won't have to worry about it...

OK, I'm one of the few TV-deprived here. Who was it the president was addressing today? I am assuming it was a crowd of mostly or many Iraqi Americans. Is that right?

Can you get your hands on an air raid siren???

BERLIN (Reuters) - A 73-year-old man who used an air raid siren to stun his wife into submission has had it confiscated by German police.

"My wife never lets me get a word in edgeways," the man identified as Vladimir R. told Mannheim police. "So I crank up the siren and let it rip for a few minutes. It works every time. Afterwards, it's real quiet again."

Thanks for the interpretation! :o)

I just happened to be between classes and grocery shopping and got to hear him speak, and I am SO glad!

The only audiences as receptive as this crowd are the military crowds that yell "HOOAH!!" after every other sentence!

I always have a tape ready to go, so I got this one on tape too. The looks on the faces of the people who were greeting him were incredible! I'll bet he can take the garbage slung from the left a bit easier on days when he's been with people who love him so deeply.

Let's hear it for all the George Mohammeds who will be born in the next few years!

Now I'M going outside........it's WAY too nice to be inside all day today!

I have those infra-red transmission headphones.

I probably wouldn't like that exhibit, either.

I know it is quite philistine of me, but I like representational art. I like it to resemble what the artist is portraying. I don't care for abstract art.

I also don't care for improvisational jazz, poetry that doesn't rhyme, or situational ethics.

I think here is a pattern here. LOL!

Do you mean free jazz or improvisational jazz? Ornette Coleman was a genius to some for his free jazz, but I just don't get it.

But improvisational jazz, where the artist is inspired uniquely each time he or she plays a tune, is something quite different.

I'm a big fan of Miles Davis, but especially his second great quintet from the mid to late 60s because they were truly geniuses at improvising, but working together as a unit.

I see a Monty Python skit in there somewhere.

Oh Man, my kind of man! If it worked, use it. Just like the government, stopping that man from having piece of mind.

I am not a jazz fan, sounds like they are looking for notes when they play. Give me that good ole cheek rubbing, eyes closed, deep concertration, 'pull em tight to you' kind of music and I am a happy man. I love the 40's music, now THAT was GOOD music.

Forgot to add, BLUES is really great, the good ole 'delta' blues, you know of course the blues were started in Mississippi. When I was in police work in the 60's I use to go to the black joints, sit in the kitchens, listen to the greats of today who were working for pennies then, Fats, Little Milton, BB King, and on and on, a lot should have be great today but didn't make it, listen to their music and eat chitterlings. The owers would call me and tell me who was coming so I cound go. I was a detective then, as I like to say, in 'clean clothes', so no uniform spooked the patrons. I use to chuckle watching 8 folks sitting at a small table with a qt of beer getting drunk as a skunk, two drops of beer and the rest of the bottle filled with moonshine whiskey. They use to tell me 'Mr. Toby, you be one of us one saturaday night and you will not want to be as you are ever again. They loved life.

I am thinking of buying me a WW1 Russian Sniper Rifle, 100 bucks, scope and all. I like colecting guns and, I have something like 8 murder weapons (knives and ice picks) I collected over my years in polic work. We could keep the evidence in those days when the case went to court and the judge OKed it.

Bye, Chairman...

Jane, I finally got to an exercise class this a.m. at the nearby Neighborhood Rec Center, and guess what? Posted on the bulletin board is a notice for classes in Highland Dancing....all levels. Wouldn't that be fun to learn??

I'm going to look into this...

AND at the library next door, there was a fascinating exhibit of someone's collection of compacts...all kinds of styles and shapes....1 was in the shape of a heart...very dainty and pretty.

Another in the shape of an Army officer's hat...green and business-like. Really neat - all of them.

Re jazz: I don't like any music without a recognizable melody, words I can distinguish, and a definite rhythm.

As I said, I am a philistine. Ha!

Compacts are highly collectible. Most people younger than 40 have never seen them. I remember my mom had 2 or 3, including a really jazzy one for evening. ALso collected from that same era are fountain pens.

Highland dancing sounds very interesting. I wonder what dances they will teach.

We used to watch this program on BBC America which had Scottish orchestral music with pipes and they would show dancers doing all sorts of intricate dances...not just the Highland fling. I can't imagine learning all the steps for some of those dances.

Meanwhile, Senator Pantsuit is apparently making noise like her memoirs will be out this summer. The most hilarious thing is that SHE is doing the audio book! HAHAHAHAHA!

That drone of hers will put us all to sleep. Not that I have any intention of listening to her book.
