We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!
Ten Iraqis have filed a complaint in a Belgian court accusing Gen. Franks of war crimes in Iraq. Belgium has a law that allows their courts to try war crimes committed by anyone anywhere in the world - "universal jurisdiction" as it is called by some. The United States is warning Belgium if the case is taken up it will have serious diplomatic repercussions.
Heard much from the Hollywild left lately? Probably not. Most of the anti-war stars have decided to beat a solid retreat in the face of a lightning quick war with broad support across the country.
The Unitd States is considering moving its main mid-east air command center from Saudi Arabia to Qatar.
And today is, or was, Saddam's birthday.
For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Did I ever tell you that Cassie won't eat anything green? When you give her a piece of pizza, she will snarf it up, but leave a tidy little pile of green peppers in her bowl. (I have never figured out how she does it.) She won't eat lettuce on leftover sandwiches, green beans, lima beans, or, for that matter, green jelly beans. She even refused a stuffed chew toy because it was green!
I don't think dogs are color blind.

Evenin', Mr. Chairman, ATRW. Anybody see today's Maher thread?
Maher Admits Naivete, Thought "Right to Privacy" in Constitution (Coulter)
From an MRC article, Maher is quoted as saying to Ann Coulter,
"You know what, this has been a learning experience for me. I also thought that privacy was something we were granted in the Constitution. I have learned from this when in fact the word privacy does not appear in the Constitution."
I'd like to help along his enlightenment. I wonder if he can point to the source in the Constitution of "property rights"?
Anybody wanna help him?
[Hint: the word "property" doesn't appear in the Constitution]

Evenin', Mr. Chairman, ATRW. Anybody see today's Maher thread? * * * * * I wonder if he can point to the source in the Constitution of "property rights"? Wrote a piece on "privacy and the Constitution" awhile back. I also wrote on the subject of abortion and Roe v. Wade - how SCOTUS blew it. The basic premise stems from the Fourth Amendment's prohibition on unreasonable searches and seizures. Privacy becomes a natural extension if the government is restricted from prying - the thrust of my argument being if the government is restrained in its ability to "search" (i.e., view as it pleases), then the object of potential searches enjoys a measure of privacy. Thus, an implicit right of privacy. (BTW - I argued in my Roe treatise that this issue of "privacy" has absolutely no bearing on a medical procedure called abortion in the context as seen by the Warren Court). I'll have to try and dig up my paper sometime.
On property rights:
The text of the Fifth Amendment, in full:
No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation. [Emphasis added.]
Quite clear statement of property rights, IMO.

I've been "compiling" (shhh, don't tell Jack Valenti) cd's for a friend from NYC whose been waay too Madison Avenue for waay too long. Thought I'd give him something to broaden his mind on the way to the in-laws in Philly.
As he's very proper and has two kids, the harsher varieties are out, especially my faves like Korn, Head (PE), and N.E.R.D. I gave him Nora Jones and The White Stripes and The Vines, instead. Heh, what can I do?
Elsewhere, I went for the normals, Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in Emn, Dvorak's 9th, the Tchaik-ster's No. 5 (1812), and Mozart's 40th. I'll get to choral later (Bach and Handel), and I'll never get to opera, as I can't stand it. Well, maybe Puccini.
As for classic Jazz, he's already got that covered, so I brought him up to Pat Metheny to make sure he's covered there, at least. Anything beyond Metheny is beyond me. Other than that, I'm stuck. There's nothing enduring in old rock'n'roll except the Stones and Zep, and there's no reason for that, since he grew up with it all. Anybody have a suggestion for something modern? I could go Schlackley and all that, but why bother? The more I think of it, the more I appreciate the edge of modern rock and rap.
