AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 826) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | April 26, 2003 | All of Us

Posted on 04/26/2003 4:29:36 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good morning!! Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

The Bush Administration will consult with allies on whether to seek international sanctions against North Korea. The Communist nation has said such a move would be a "declaration of war."

Otherwise, not much news this morning.

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

It's been raining pretty steady and hard all night. Lawn is greening up nice, however.

Thanks. I was a little worried that it might be a little more than Sarah could handle...going to college full time..working 15-25 per week.... and training a young colt...as well as the chores of having horse #1 PB, dogs cat, bunnies, etc, but after seeing her determination, I am no longer concerned.

'Morning, Mr. Chairman, ATRW. Look what sprouted up from the (com)Post today:

FDA Says It Can Take Away Drugs' Prescription Status

The reporter's a moron, for he thinks removing prescribed medicines to over the counter (OTC) status will make them more expensive, since insurance won't cover them anymore. More backwards liberal thinking, that is. It's enfuriating to read idiocy like that.

Nevertheless, I like the idea, one I've argued for at FR in the past: prescriptive medicines are expensive because it's a regulated industry. OTC is the free market. Let the Rx industry make money without government protection.

Morning all. I was supposed to go with Trill to Ft. Worth for a weaving show/exposition/thingy, but instead, I'm here with an emergency call into the dentist, who has obviously left his pager under the seat of his Ferrari. Grrrr.

Morning John. What's the dental problem? Hope you get it taken care of soon. Tooth problems can be pretty horrible.

Besides the abcess, Bart not returning my call is the problem. It's not like he has a life or anything..... ;>)

Wow, that's very impressive that Sarah has taken on all that responsibility. I'm sure she'll do great with that horse.

Our 10-year-old would like us to get a calf, but we thought she should spend her own savings and take it on as a project. We told her that she could sell it in a year and make a nice profit so she's considering it, but it would pretty much wipe out her current savings.

Call a pharmacy....sometimes they can help temporarily...

...perhaps Ora-gel-(pharmacy)- will numb it somewhat and also...
.. take the strongest over the counter medication you can tolerate.
Call your local pharmacist...

Thank goodness for cell phones and Mapquest(tm). Part of the reason I was going to go with Trill is because I grew up in Ft. Worth, and I was going to navigate. Seems like there is construction downtown, so Trill had to call and have me navigate remotely. LOL!

"I don't want to get back on I-30. The stupid detours keep putting me on I-30!" She made it safely. Finally. ;>)

Here is an interesting poem that I hope the Frogs will read.

To France With Love

Who Stands Alone
Author Unknown

Eleven thousand soldiers lay beneath the dirt and stone, all buried on a distant land so far away from home. For just a strip of dismal beach they paid a hero's price, to save a foreign nation they all made the sacrifice. And now the shores of Normandy are lined with blocks of white, Americans who didn't turn from someone else's plight. Eleven thousand reasons for the French to take our side, but in the moment of our need, they chose to run and hide. Chirac said every war means loss, perhaps for France that's true, for they've lost every battle since the days of Waterloo.

Without a soldier worth a damn to be found in the region, the French became the only land to need a Foreign Legion. You French all say we're arrogant. Well, hell, we've earned the right-- We saved your sorry nation when you lacked the guts to fight.

But now you've made a big mistake, and one that you'll regret; you took sides with our enemies, and that we won't forget.

It wasn't just our citizens you spit on when you turned, but every one of ours who fell the day the towers burned. You spit upon our soldiers, on our pilots and Marines, and now you'll get a little sense of just what payback means.

So keep your Paris fashions and your wine and your champagne, and find some other market that will buy your aeroplanes. And try to find somebody else to wear your French cologne, for you're about to find out what it means to stand alone.

You see, you need us far more than we ever needed you. America has better friends who know how to be true. I'd rather stand with warriors who have the will and might, than huddle in the dark with those whose only flag is white.

I'll take the Brits, the Aussies, the Israelis and the rest, for when it comes to valor we have seen that they're the best. We'll count on one another as we face a moment dire, while you sit on the sideline with a sign "friendship for hire."

We'll win this war without you and we'll total up the cost, and take it from your foreign aid, and then you'll feel the loss. And when your nation starts to fall, well Frenchie, you can spare us, just call the Germans for a hand, they know the way to Paris.

Guennie, Johnny, & all:

Would appreciate some prayers for my girlchild.......today is her recital (3:00 p.m.)............it will be such a boost for her if it goes well............

Leaving soon to take her to get her hair done.......then we're heading down to the college with the bars, cookies, punch bowls etc.; have to get there early to practice (I'm doing a two-piano piece with her to end the recital; Borodin's "Polovtsian Dances".)

I'll check in later & let ya know how it goes!!!!!:)

I'd like a comment from you (or anyone else here) about SARS and how news of the epidemic is being received. I won't bother mentioning an idiot freeper who last night ridiculed anyone who took SARS seriously because, apparently, he thinks it's all media hysteria and gives the government an excuse to have their new DHS powers limit freedoms and appear to have a reason for existence. OK, so don't think about that guy.

A few days ago some other freeper said they predicted that the AIDS lobby would soon feel jealous of the attention SARS was getting. I agreed with him and was ridiculed for thinking that the AIDS lobby was so self-centered. I then found an article in which the co-discoverer of HIV said basically that a disease like SARS that leaves 95% of its victims alive is really no threat. That to me sounds like the first shot in a skirmish between the AIDS lobby and anyone who dares think there is any other health risk more important than AIDS.

Again, I was ridiculed for that statement and some freeper said that was merely that doctor's way of comforting those with AIDS by bringing good news to them that SARS isn't something that needs concern them that much.

What do you think? I've been ridiculed on this to the point that I hardly want to show up on SARS threads anymore....and probably shouldn't.

John, I love mapquest. Using mapquest I just discovered a bunch of backroads that will save me precious minutes on the commute to my new job.

Mozie, still no word here from our niece or her parents so we assume that's good news that she is still safe and sound in Kfar Saba. I'm almost sure there's a bit of a story there because Kfar Saba isn't that big.
