The Dixie Chicks, Emily Robison, left, Natalie Maines, center, and Martie Maguire, say they are posing nude to make a point.

So, their defense is that they're not really evil, they're just bubbleheaded idiots? You know what? I'll buy that.

Pose nude my a**! This photo has been so airbrushed they look like they're made of silicon - except for the faces. And Ms Maines seems to have dropped a lot of weight!

So...how do the Beach Boys feel about the war ?

Mike is for it, Brian is against it, Al says "cool out, man," and Carl and Dennis are still dead.

At least, that would be my guess given the political orientation of the band members.

Oh, wait, that was a rhetorical question...

I wish it was that easy to airbrush off about 80 lbs.

I wonder if the picture was taken Waaaaaay in advance. They just added the words in advance. Entertainment Weekly planned on this cover for the start of their concert.

"Look at the "I" and the vertical part of the "E" next to it.

At the bottom right, of the "I",--- there is even a piece of left-over foot from the "E".

Here is a post I found at Natalie's site and my response.

Jesus would ask that those who feel wronged by Natalie's comments forgive her. Jesus would also ask her critics not to commit further sin by maligning her character or use profanity in doing so. Jesus would also maintain a sense of proportion and recognize that a criticism of the President's political tactics is not an endorsement of Saddam Hussein. Jesus might also tug the President on the ear and ask him why he has ordered the firing of missiles into civilian population centers, thereby incurring the deaths of innocent men, women and children. Jesus would certainly tell all of you to chill out.

My response:

First, let me point out that the Iraqi's killed far more civilians that the coalition did, possibly by a 100 to 1 margin. There are reports that an entire batallion of men had their throats cut because they wouldn't fight for Saddam. What would Jesus have said about the release of those "radical" Iraqi children who were being held as political prisoners?

I hope that Natalie has asked Jesus to forgive her and I hope he has, but that doesn't mean that behavior doesn't have consequenses. My wife could forgive me for having an affair, but our relationship would be changed forever.

I don't deny Natalie her right to free speech. But I feel like she cheated on me, and so do a lot of other fans. We can forgive, but our relationship is changed forever.

There isn't an airbrush powerful enough to cover the ugly of that fat little Boston Terrier with the flaptitties.

A circuit judge ruled today a day-care center is not criminally responsible for the death of Zaniyah Hinson, the toddler who died after being left in a sweltering van.

They are not nude. All their private parts are covered.

Yup. Even now, they still think they can fool us. Disgraceful. ;)

Frankly, this phony nude photo-op "statement" does more harm to their careers by its sheer silliness, than any non-apology or Diane Sawyer cry-fest ever could. The DC's need to fire their PR person, pronto...

Perhaps, if they had kept quiet about the whole thing after Maines's PR agent-released apology, this may have blown over. But by shooting off her big mouth yet again with a definite NON-APOLOGY and whining about being BLACKLISTED, she and her songstress sisters are just making a bad situation worse.

Most Americans are in no mood for their views and it will eventually show up...at the box office and in CD sales. IMHO, the Dixie Chicks have lost this war...

Why is it that liberal women decry the "male-dominated society" that they live in, put an emphasis on "brains, not beauty" and then go and pose nude?

I'll never understand it.

That's what I mean--imagine this photo being pasted on walls all over the Middle East. Don't you think that might make them cringe just a little bit? Too creepy.

this is to remedy the fact that they yanked the naked PETA ad. If anything, they had been in CYA mode since the backlash. Now that they see that that is not working they got nekked.

This is so damn transparent!

I feel bad for them, they are so ignorant and fake.

Well, that's it. The Chicks have officially Jumped the Shark with this photo. Their next CD will not even hit the top 100. Stick a fork in these Chicks, they are done.

So stupid, and so unnecessary. Their managers obviously know nothing about politics. If they had just shut up and put their heads down, this storm would have blown over by now. But they foolishly decided to keep amplifying their mistake and this cover just completely alienates most country music fans that would otherwise have forgiven them.

I've been one of their biggest fans to date, but this is just too much. I'll not be buying any more of their CDs.

''Dixie Sluts,''

Good, this completes the picture: we have already learned that they are immoral in other respects and unpatriotic.
