Jesus would ask that those who feel wronged by Natalie's comments forgive her. Jesus would also ask her critics not to commit further sin by maligning her character or use profanity in doing so. Jesus would also maintain a sense of proportion and recognize that a criticism of the President's political tactics is not an endorsement of Saddam Hussein. Jesus might also tug the President on the ear and ask him why he has ordered the firing of missiles into civilian population centers, thereby incurring the deaths of innocent men, women and children. Jesus would certainly tell all of you to chill out.
My response:
First, let me point out that the Iraqi's killed far more civilians that the coalition did, possibly by a 100 to 1 margin. There are reports that an entire batallion of men had their throats cut because they wouldn't fight for Saddam. What would Jesus have said about the release of those "radical" Iraqi children who were being held as political prisoners?
I hope that Natalie has asked Jesus to forgive her and I hope he has, but that doesn't mean that behavior doesn't have consequenses. My wife could forgive me for having an affair, but our relationship would be changed forever.
I don't deny Natalie her right to free speech. But I feel like she cheated on me, and so do a lot of other fans. We can forgive, but our relationship is changed forever.
