The Dixie Chicks are fighting back if that is what compounding the mess that they are in can be called.
Those who have already previewed the appearance tonight on ABC's Primetime Live with Diane Sawyer say that they have failed miserably.
It's billed as an 'apology' but they don't really apologize.
They also take their clothes off for Entertainment Weekley because--and get the muddled thinking here--because 'It's not about nakedness, it's about clothes getting in the way of labels.' Huh??
They also cringe about death threats.
But the worst is Martie Maguire's relevation that her grandfather is being harassed at a nursing home. So long girls, have a nice life.. (back to playing in Mexican Restaurants)

The point isn't whether they thought they were giving aid to their enemy. It was whether your enemey thougth you were giving aid and I assure you Saddam was happy they spoke out.
Country stars nude on a cover of a pop magazine!
Frauds. Go join Sheryl Crow as a degenerate celebrity and it will be okay but you can't be a country star and hate America.

What about the Derailers & Leroy Parnell ? Do they count as TX music? They are great, too.

They retouch any and everything that goes on a magazine cover.
I mean, heaven forbid their should be a mole or a small scar! Not to mention a tiny bit of flab somewhere.

And why are all three holding their breasts in this picture. Maybe they beat there breasts so hard in the Dianne Sawyer interview they came up all bruised. Just something to think about.

This is all about saving their career and album sales.
Their management probably think this is the only way they can do it..

Just so you know, I'm ashamed Natalie is from Texas. Apparently she's still not offering anything close to an apology and never will. This stunt is just the lastest of playing on her EX fans' sympathy for record sales. Nothing more than the all mighty dollar talking here folks. I don't recall the group ever doing the nekkid thing which only goes to prove she's only doing this for publicity and $. It's sad really, that her country fans have left her in the dust so all that's left is the pimply faced hormonal 14yo group who will rush to buy the inevitable full sized posters to tac above their beds.
The full article constantly referred to her as "Miss Maines". It's interesting her Iranian husband/actor is keeping out of sight during all this. Perhaps he's ashamed of her comments or is smart enough to keep his mouth shut unlike other Hollyweirds. Hey, someone's got to be bring home the um, bacon.

LOL...between the time I posted that this morning and the time you posted, Billboard updated their sales chart for the week.
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN....According to Billboard, the #1 Country Album (in sales) is Darryl Worley's 'Have You Forgotten'. He is also #4 in total albums (country and otherwise).
#2 is Toby Keith's 'Unleashed' (which has Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue as well as 7 or 8 other good songs)
Dixie Chicks have slid to #3.....I predict they will slip further next week.
Thanks for the heads up, ewing.

Fake body to go along with her fake apology.

I thought that as well. She looks waaaaay too thin. Airbrush for the airhead. And the other chicks are not that good looking either.
Hey, they're Liberals! Style over substance, don'cha know...after all, wasn't Al Gore's photo in Rolling Stone, er, enhanced to a certain degree? ;-)

there are over 500 for bruce springsteen and fleetwood mac as well, i think the number of tickets for sale on ebay is a measure of the acts popularity, not that folks are dumping theirs, they are professional scalpers making a killing

they are professional scalpers making a killingIf you look at the bidding and prices, it is more like they are getting killed.

Tne magazine cover is insane - thsi type of behavior will alienate people even more. I wonder who is pulling their strings, and seems to have it in for the Dixie Chicks.
To: HitmanNY
I believe it is the Dixie Chicks manager who attacked FR, he is giving them all the wrong career advise.

"Sadly, I do not believe their careers will suffer that much....a majority of people do not put their money where their mouths are....look at Jane Fonda. She made a fortune on fitness videos....the general public just isn't willing to boycott to any great extent."
its also just that people forget and the younger people don't even know stuff that goes on....
for instance....do you all remember that Lew Alcinder refused to play at the Olympics?..or that the reason George Forman is loved is that when other black athletes held their hands up in a hateful protest against America, George, after winning the heavyweight boxing gold, held a tiny American flag and bowed to the crowd in all directions...
I make it a point to tell my dtrs about George....
In this day and age, I guess we have to be happy that we live up to our own standards ....that is why never playing or listening to the DC's again for me is a reality...just like never buying anything with "tyson" on it ...

looks like the scalpers are making at least 20 bucks a tickets, and let's not forget, if they're being sold on ebay, the tour promoter (and the dc) have already made their money
