AMERICA - The Right Way!! (Day 823) [Remember the Trade Center!!]
Various News Sources and FReepers | April 23, 2003 | All of Us

Posted on 04/23/2003 4:41:32 AM PDT by Chairman_December_19th_Society

We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!

Good Morning!!

The State Department is issuing a travel advisory for Ontario relating to the SARS virus.

California may run out of cash in a few weeks; their solution will be to pay vendors and others with IOUs.

Gay rights groups are upset that Sen. Santorum compared homosexuality to bigamy, polygamy, incest, and adultery.

And Hans Blix says the United States lacks credibility in its efforts to find Iraq's banned weaponry. He warned the UN Security Council that only the UN, not the US, could provide an objective assessment of anything found in Iraq. He further accused the United States and Britain in deliberately undermining his efforts before the war.

Do not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who gave their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!

For AMERICA - The Right Way, I remain yours in the Cause, the Chairman.

Girlchild's recital is this weekend......and the burning issue of the day..........the biggest problem looming in her mind.............isn't the music or the reception...........it's the fact that..........

SHE CAN'T FIND A DRESS!!!!!!!!

Of course, she didn't HAVE to wait until the week before to start looking, did she???? NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

But I am biting my tongue.

12 stores so far. Nothing.

Oh you know that that is ALWAYS the case...wait till the last minute to find just the RIGHT dress that NOONE seems to have, and even if they did, the dress just WOULD not FIT them JUST RIGHT at JUST the RIGHT time.

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt.

Exactly.

She knows exactly what she wants.......red, long, straps, backless..................but all the dresses she's looked at are "too short", "too princess-y", "too halter-y", or "the wrong shade of red."

We saw a nice virginal-looking white one yesterday that fit perfectly, but no dice.;^)

I had a most pleasant surprise this morning. I got a call asking me to head up a drug abuse task force for our city. Being I dedicated my entire professional life to fighting drug abuse as a policeman I am honored to have been asked. (Excuse the bragging my friends).

I am sorry about your BPressure probs. I do know that exercise helps but I think if you think of it as exercise, it wont take long to find its way out of your life.

I do a lot of things that people consider "exercise". I don't consider that I EVER exercise. I have fun doing lots of things.. one of the "side benefits" is that it is exercise.

What I am getting at is to find some physical thing (s) that you like to do & do lots of it.

Biking,

swimming,

rigorous gardening (those of us who do this, know what I mean).... I use a non self propelled push lawn mower to do over an acre of grass )

SEX (; (need to probably be pretty creative to get this to be a super physical sub -)

Hiking,

Jazzercise or any other type of dance.. swing, contra etc

....there is probably something you enjoyed doing as a child that you might enjoy again. Badminton?

I speak a bit here as a therapist(phyche type) who was a PE undergrad. I would NOT work with a client/patient unless they had some form of physical exertion daily. I feel that it is a good way to get the body physically in line, but also gives one some clarity of thought & it is a way of oxygenation that I feel is impt for physical & mental health.

Depending on your age, lifestyle, I know it is difficult to often overcome inertia..... tv and computers have done much to help us have a very comfy couch potato life, hasn't it?

Good luck friends..

oh, as a post script.. give up the cigs before the martinis !

You have freepmail, too!

Sorry I was delayed...I was taking a....nap. Ha!

Don't forget, I am going to the art show this evening. I will report either tonight or tomorrow...probably tomorrow.

My daughter's car has had to have all four shocks replaced. Sigh.

Two places you might check are up-scale resale shops and bridal boutiques. Bridal boutiques often sell evening gowns as well, at least in our town, and the latter is where we bought daughter's last prom gown (which was really an evening gown and quite elegant).
