Mo, according to the Earth Day crowd, for everyone on the planet to live my kind of life we would need 5.2 planet Earths.

I think they are nuts. The idiots (and they really are idiots) who promote this silly stuff concoct fear mongering theories that hold such things as productivity, technology, productive land, resources, energy and other factors constant while predicting mass destruction that can only be prevented by reducing population and sharing poverty. According to them, big and universal government is the only means by which we can be saved from our own selfishness.

I think that if everyone on earth lived like any of us there would be (1) More jobs; (2) Less poverty; (3) Less disease; (4) Longer lifespans; (5) Little terrorism; (6) Infrequent war; (7) Greater literacy; (8) No hunger; (9) Increased wealth and (10) Plentiful resources.

Just after college I was given one of the first "scare manuals" about running out of natural resources. It was put out by a group of "scientists" from all over the world calling themselves "The Club of Rome"

It was a pretty big event.....all the scientists uniting to tell us when we would run out of resources, food, and begin to pollute ourselves to death. And when was this supposed to start happening?

The late 1980's..........still waiting for an apology for their being wrong....
