OK, you can have all the angels you want. I've got something better.
Christ be with me, Christ within me,
Christ behind me, Christ before me,
Christ beside me, Christ to win me;
Christ to comfort and restore me;
Christ beneath me, Christ above me,
Christ in quiet, Christ in danger,
Christ in hearts of all that love me,
Christ in mouth of friend and stranger.From the Shield of St. Patrick

Our choir used to sing something similar to that .... it was really beautiful ..... lovely melody as well as the meaningful words. A good friend of ours had the choir sing it at her wedding .... :-)

It's over 1500 years old and has been put to music in many forms.
One of my favorite bands is Iona and they've put it to music in a song called Encircling.

We sang an Irish Blessing on St. Patrick's weekend at my church (St. Patrick's:) which incorporated those lyrics.

Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Oh! Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they crucified my Lord?
Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?
Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?
Oh! Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?
Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?
Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?
Oh! Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they laid Him in the tomb?

Good Morning Everybody. Busy day ahead. 2 meetings this morning, then we have a family dinner at the Old Gezzer's Brother's house.
I made my food to take to the dinner yesterday. Also made my Nests (Rice Krispie Treat recipe substituting Wheaties for the Rice Krispies and adding green food coloring). Sometimes I wonder about my own sanity.

THANK YOU! You are a sweetheart!!! Your instructions are appreciated. I get a kick out of what you consider "basic." You are not "...just a cook!" This leg of lamb will be the best my family ever had!

Right now I have to get me another cup of coffee, eyes slow in opening this morning.
A few thousand Iraqi calling for the US to get out and 24 million of that population are with us, wonder who those few thousands are, members from the party kicked out?
