ABU ABBAS, THE MASTERMIND OF THE ACHILLE LAURO HIJACKING, IS CAPTURED IN IRAQ

Representatives from the United States, North Korea, and China will be meeting in China next week.

President Bush and President Chirac spoke for the first time in two months yesterday; the conversation was described as "business-like."

The Palestinian Authority insists that Washington free Abu Abbas, saying it violates the Oslo Peace Accords, signed by UOx42.

Speaking of the former President, at a forum by Conference Board, he made the following remarks:

"We can't run. If you got an interdependent world, and you cannot kill, jail or occupy all your adversaries, sooner or later you have to make a deal."

And: He said he believed Washington overreacted to German and French opposition to US plans for military action against Iraq.

And, the topper(!): "Since September 11, it looks like we can't hold two guns at the same time. If you fight terrorism, you can't make America a better place to be."

We will not let the victims of the attacks on New York and Washington, nor the brave members of our Nation's military who have given their lives to protect our freedom, die in vain!!

A fine conservative friend from Oregon sent me this. Makes you feel proud and want to kick Frenchie butt at the same time:

We saved your sorry nation when you lacked the guts to fight.

It wasn't just our citizens you spit on when you turned,
but every one of ours who fell the day the towers burned.
You spit upon our soldiers, on our pilots and Marines,
and now you'll get a little sense of just what payback means.

So keep your Paris fashions and your wine and your champagne,
and find some other market that will buy your aeroplanes.
And try to find somebody else to wear your French cologne,
for you're about to find out what it means to stand alone.

You see, you need us far more than we ever needed you.
America has better friends who know how to be true.
I'd rather stand with warriors who have the will and might,
than huddle in the dark with those whose only flag is white.

I'll take the Brits, the Aussies, the Israelis and the rest,
for when it comes to valor we have seen that they're the best.
We'll count on one another as we face a moment dire,
while you sit on the sideline with a sign "friendship for hire."

We'll win this war without you and we'll total up the cost,
and take it from your foreign aid, and then you'll feel the loss.
And when your nation starts to fall, well Frenchie, you can spare us,
just call the Germans for a hand, they KNOW, the way to Paris.

You asked about our weather last night.......it is totally INSANE.......that's about all I can say............

The rain just turned over to freezing rain and it is VERY windy...........flood watches & warnings all over the place.......sleet/snow/more freezing rain for the rest of the day and into tomorrow............

All this after highs in the 80's YESTERDAY..........

The leaders of Russia, France and Germany -- or, as I call them, the "axis of envy" -- gathered for a summit on what their part in the rebuilding of Iraq should be. You know something? I think France should participate in rebuilding Iraq. When it comes to having experience about what to do after losing a war, nobody does it better than the French.
The Canadian prime minister has ordered the Canadian navy not to capture any of Saddam's henchmen if they try to flee Iraq by sea. The Pentagon is stunned by this. They had no idea Canada had a navy.
UN Secretary-General Annan said he thinks the arms inspectors should resume looking for weapons in Iraq. Forget looking for arms in Iraq -- how about looking for backbones in the UN?

By the way, did Chretien really have such a comment about Saddam's people? We never should have let Chretien and Chirac be separated at birth.
