Thank you for sharing this moment of grief with us so that we can share it with you. God bless your beloved Samora.
It's no requiem, but it is about love -- so it comes to mind:
SONNET 29
When, in disgrace with fortune and men's eyes,
I all alone beweep my outcast state
And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries
And look upon myself and curse my fate,
Wishing me like to one more rich in hope,
Featured like him, like him with friends possess'd,
Desiring this man's art and that man's scope,
With what I most enjoy contented least;
Yet in these thoughts myself almost despising,
Haply I think on thee, and then my state,
Like to the lark at break of day arising
From sullen earth, sings hymns at heaven's gate;
For thy sweet love remember'd such wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my state with kings.

Forgive me, I forgot to credit Wm. Shakespeare. Most beautiful, as you noted.

How's that essay coming? Finished yet?
I've got my postal exam in 11 hours. Also my background check is being done for the wilderness program and I had to fill out a fingerprint form today.
Sometimes I wish I had gotten a job when I first came back and never had to go through all of this. Looking for a job is my least favorite thing to do and I feel like a piece of you know what when I'm not gainfully employed.

Essay is not done yet. I am about 1/3 of the way through writing and I have only used 1500 words. Hmmm.
I'm trying to keep my temper at the moment. A colleague just said, "We've begun to read Tom Sawyer" and we're using southern accents. It's so much fun. We get to use bad grammar." I am sorry to report I replied, "Really, when I practice being a yankee, I get to be rude."
I shouldn't have, didn't mean to inclusive. And instead of saying more that I regret, I got up and left.

Way to go, Jemian! She walked right into that one .... what a brilliant reply ... the sort of thing I would have thought of
hours later and wished I'd said.
(with apologies to all my Northern FReeper friends who are kind, considerate, and compassionate .... but we're talking about stereotypes here, not reality)

The person who made that comment is also a democRAT, and voted for UOx42 and Albore.

Hi all.
My best friend's cousin (Midge) went home to be with the Lord this afternoon at 1:00.
It's been a dark, cold, rainy day.
I need some happy thoughts.
To: kayak
I shouldn't have said it. I should have held my temper (nobly) and not given in.
Alas, I'm not perfect yet.
But I AM better than I was.

What exactly constitutes a "Yankee"??? I seriously want to know.
To: MozartLover
Mel and I send our sypmathies .....

.
.
I hope that doesn't seem too flip .... I sincerely offer my sympathy and will be praying for Midge's family and friends.

Mozie, sorry to hear about the death of your friend's cousin. Prayers for you and all who knew her (or him).
I needed some happy thoughts today too so just after I finished cleaning our fish and the sun was setting, I drove off in my truck to find a place to see the sunset. I should have left 15 minutes earlier, but driving up the ridge where you can look down into the valley below I got a good enough view to restore my inner peace.
I take it your weather is having a bad effect on you. For some reason cloudy, blustery weather is what I really love. Seattle was great for that, Tennessee doesn't have much of it. And my ideal outdoor temperature is about 65 which you could get almost any time of year in Seattle. Tennessee seems to go from 40 degrees to 85 degrees with few stops in between.
Hmmmmm....now I need a happy thought again.

I am sorry. I pray the comfort of the Father for all those who mourn. May they be reminded of the love which He has for His people.
