Excuse the Vanity.
I have seen supposedly happy Iraqis, including one little boy smiling at the news cameras and giving a 'thumbs up' sign to the troops.
Now I thought I heard somewhere that the 'thumbs up' gesture is an insult in the Arab world on a level of our 'one finger' salute.
TOPICS: Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: beeber; series; stuned; thubs; vey
Can anyone help on this?
To: Mike Darancette
Maybe here.As far as "thubs" are concerned, it happens to the best of us.

In case you're wondering what they are talking about, you had a typo in the title that I corrected.
To: Mike Darancette
Awww, darn it, Mike. This is series. You just went and coined a new word for the FR vocabulary. That was a HUGH mistake.
Better start smiling, you're gonna hear a lot about THUB. (Grin)

Aw, darn it Mod
It's Saturday night and here I am home, dateless, sober and depressed. And you had to go and spoil all the fun.
Just the other day I said that I wait hopefully at the KMart, yearning for the Blue Light Special so that I can meet you and fall passionately in love.

Don't know about thumbs up, but I have learned since the war began that showing the sole of a shoe is the equivalant to the middle finger.

Now I thought I heard somewhere that the 'thumbs up' gesture is an insult in the Arab world on a level of our 'one finger' salute. I'd never heard that one, but this gesture that we use for "A-OK" is interpreted by Germans as calling them an @$$hole.

Gee .... for a moment there I was stuned and thought I was going to have to use my beeber.

Apparently, we have a case of mistaken identification. *I* am kitkat and I did not post anything to this thread. So I guess someone else has signed up using my name. Also, please note my tagline which is NOT the one used by the "other" kitkat.
