1 [1] Why, O LORD , do you stand far off?
Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
2 In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak,
who are caught in the schemes he devises.
3 He boasts of the cravings of his heart;
he blesses the greedy and reviles the LORD .
4 In his pride the wicked does not seek him;
in all his thoughts there is no room for God.
5 His ways are always prosperous;
he is haughty and your laws are far from him;
he sneers at all his enemies.
6 He says to himself, "Nothing will shake me;
I'll always be happy and never have trouble."
7 His mouth is full of curses and lies and threats;
trouble and evil are under his tongue.
8 He lies in wait near the villages;
from ambush he murders the innocent,
watching in secret for his victims.
9 He lies in wait like a lion in cover;
he lies in wait to catch the helpless;
he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net.
10 His victims are crushed, they collapse;
they fall under his strength.
11 He says to himself, "God has forgotten;
he covers his face and never sees."
12 Arise, LORD ! Lift up your hand, O God.
Do not forget the helpless.
13 Why does the wicked man revile God?
Why does he say to himself,
"He won't call me to account"?
14 But you, O God, do see trouble and grief;
you consider it to take it in hand.
The victim commits himself to you;
you are the helper of the fatherless.
15 Break the arm of the wicked and evil man;
call him to account for his wickedness
that would not be found out.
16 The LORD is King for ever and ever;
the nations will perish from his land.
17 You hear, O LORD , the desire of the afflicted;
you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,
18 defending the fatherless and the oppressed,
in order that man, who is of the earth, may terrify no more.
We are there in Iraq to help the helpless victims of Saddam's brutal Stalinist regime. In doing so, we have taken on all the demonic forces of the world who have been at work all these years to oppress and destroy people - not just in Iraq but in so many nations of the world.
That is why hell is so angered at what we are doing and that is why all the agents of hell are united in opposing our nation, and our President, and Mr. Blair.
But, thanks be to God, there are many nations who still have a remnant of God's grace in them - especially the nations newly freed from STALINIST TERROR such as what grips Iraq.
The forces of darkness have been entrenched in Basra and in Baghdad for a very long time - which is one of the reasons spiritual warfare is so needed. As Christians WE ARE CALLED TO WARFARE - SPIRITUAL WARFARE - where we do the praying and interceding, and God and His Heavenly Hosts do the powerful cleansing work against these forces of darkness. While the armies there battle against flesh and blood, WE battle against the powers and principalities of darkness through prayer. In doing so, we MUST put on the full armor of God every day - and pray for God to protect and cover us as our Shield and defender - and to cover those we love the same.
Just as our soldiers would not go into battle in Iraq without their protective armor and their weapons, we must NOT go into prayer like this without being "dressed" for battle and "armed" - so everyone PLEASE pray through Ephesians 6 every day before entering your prayer closet. And remember that Jesus Christ is VICTOR!!! He shall prevail!!!
Baghdad and Basra - locales where forces from hell have held power and are not giving up easily.
But GOD is more powerful than all the forces from hell combined! MUCH more!
Amen!!!
Is anyone sensing an 'urge' to step up the prayers?
I'm 'getting' such a feeling in my spirit of restlessness/expecting something 'bad' to happen.
BTW... along with the prayers, I've been 'reminded' that God inhabits our praises. Sooooo, Praise Him.
Heavenly Father,
We thank You so much that Your shield is covering our troops and we praise You for hiding them in the shadow of Your wings. And now, Lord, shine a light for our brave men and women as they continue to face down the enemy. Set to confusion and grant defeat to any who would protect or defend evil. Supply our troops with supernatural endurance and determination. Lead them on a safe path and grant them victory over this evil regime. We praise You, Father, for all that You are doing to preserve their lives. Hear our prayers which we offer in the Blessed Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
I HAVE A SPECIAL PRAYER REQUEST TO ADD: PLEASE PRAY THAT THE ENORMITY OF THE EVIL IS FULLY EXPOSED FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE!
Satan is a LIAR - and those who serve him WANT TO DECEIVE as much as they want to DESTROY.
PRAY THAT THE LIGHT OF GOD SHINES ON ALL THE HORRORS, ALL THE CRIMES ALL THE ATROCITIES, FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE! PRAY FOR GOD TO EXPOSE THESE DEEDS OF DEMONS!
My concern is that as our people are chronicling the atrocities, they are not being made public soon enough to hit the world with the power of exposing the atrocities and horrors as was done after World War II so that never again would anyone have the courage to openly admire Hitler. When all that should be known is made known, there will be no one left who can openly admire Saddam or openly criticize our President or our Nation for taking this action into the heart of hell.
BUT WE MUST CONTINUE TO PRAY A COVER OF GOD'S SHIELD AND ARMOR OVER OUR LOVED ONES, OVER OURSELVES, OVER THOSE FIGHTING FOR THE TRUTH AND THE RIGHT AND THE ROUTING OF EVIL. Thanks to all joining the prayer battle.
