Ok, now Hollyweird has ticked me off!!!

Posted on 03/24/2003 3:17:15 PM PST by cherry_bomb88

Ok...I just got done having a "heated" debate with a "net friend" that I play cards with sometimes. He is from Belgium..young, a mere 23....Please tell me what is wrong with this???? Hollyweird gets seen by the world and now that's what the world uses to gauge how every day Americans think (the names have been changed to protect the ignorant*)

ignorantbelgium* (3:46:50 PM): completely in the spirit of the war aren't ya?

cherrylynn (3:47:06 PM): supporting my boys (and girls) over there

cherrylynn (3:47:12 PM): has nothing to do with the war

ignorantbelgium* (3:47:21 PM): lol 's ok

ignorantbelgium*(3:47:37 PM): everyone has the right on his or her own opinion

cherrylynn (3:48:00 PM): yes...no matter if it's wrong or not

ignorantbelgium* (3:48:14 PM): wrong is a relative word

cherrylynn (3:48:30 PM): I suppose

ignorantbelgium* (3:48:46 PM): i think both r wrong

ignorantbelgium*(3:48:56 PM): as well bush as sadam

ignorantbelgium*(3:49:03 PM): i know ur a bush fan

cherrylynn (3:49:26 PM): whether Im a bush fan or not, has nothing to do with what is right or wrong

ignorantbelgium*(3:49:33 PM): all i hope is that that war ends quickly no matter how it ends

cherrylynn (3:49:55 PM): Russia has been outsted....they didn't want us to go b/c "wow" we discovered they've been selling weapons to Iraq that are not allowed per resolution 1441

cherrylynn (3:50:13 PM): and well, France didn't want us to go b/c they have a $40 billion oil contract with Iraq

cherrylynn (3:50:28 PM): right & wrong morally has been skewed by economics

ignorantbelgium*(3:50:42 PM): what about belgium?

ignorantbelgium*(3:50:57 PM): we were accused for being the mini me of the NATO

cherrylynn (3:50:58 PM): don't know

cherrylynn (3:51:21 PM): I don't have enough information about belgium to form an opinion

ignorantbelgium*(3:51:32 PM): well we supported germany and france

cherrylynn (3:51:38 PM): than follow the money

ignorantbelgium* (3:51:49 PM): we didn't follow them for the money

cherrylynn (3:51:55 PM): germany is selling arms in violation of 1441 to Iraq as well

cherrylynn (3:52:01 PM): and none of them wants to be discovered

ignorantbelgium* (3:52:07 PM): we only believe in a peacefull work out

cherrylynn (3:52:16 PM): oh yes, hugs will solve everything

cherrylynn (3:52:26 PM): you cannot reason with a madman

cherrylynn (3:52:39 PM): sometimes in order to ensure the peace, you have to be prepared for war

ignorantbelgium* (3:52:44 PM): bush is actin like a madman too

cherrylynn (3:52:57 PM): unfortunately, but opposing us, France, Germany & Belgium probably caused that which they saught to avoid

cherrylynn (3:53:09 PM): if they would have backed us, Saddam would have backed down seeing the world was against him

ignorantbelgium* (3:53:14 PM): we caused the war????

cherrylynn (3:53:25 PM): show of force & support would have avoided this

cherrylynn (3:53:31 PM): unilateral support

cherrylynn (3:53:53 PM): and besides...we are giving Iraqi prisoners the BEST medical attention and what are they doing to our prisoners???? executing them...

cherrylynn (3:53:59 PM): contrary to the geneva convention

ignorantbelgium* (3:54:08 PM): wow rather impressive for a lil country with 10 million pl to be the starters of a war isn't it?

cherrylynn (3:54:33 PM): not talking about Belgium..sorry, but your country is a non entity

ignorantbelgium*(3:54:52 PM): there is no proof that soldiers were executed

cherrylynn (3:54:54 PM): if Russia, France & Germany would have abided by an ultimatum, then Saddam would have saw he had no way out and backed down

cherrylynn (3:54:58 PM): NO PROOF???

cherrylynn (3:55:06 PM): f**k...bullets to the head in the exact same spot???

cherrylynn (3:55:08 PM): that is execution

cherrylynn (3:55:11 PM): not battle

cherrylynn (3:55:14 PM): our marines wear helmets

cherrylynn (3:55:30 PM): there is NO WAY those wounds could have occured in any other way than execution style

cherrylynn (3:55:37 PM): and those pictures where taken by ARAB reporters

cherrylynn (3:55:38 PM): not ours

cherrylynn (3:55:44 PM): they are treating our prisoners like sh*t

cherrylynn (3:55:53 PM): and worse

cherrylynn (3:55:59 PM): the same way they treat their own people

cherrylynn (3:56:04 PM): wake up

cherrylynn (3:56:10 PM): stop listening to Blitz

ignorantbelgium* (3:56:13 PM): i'm wide awake

cherrylynn (3:56:15 PM): do some research on the net

cherrylynn (3:56:18 PM): outside of your country

cherrylynn (3:56:21 PM): go to Fox News

ignorantbelgium*(3:56:22 PM): u mean blix?

cherrylynn (3:56:30 PM): yes, you know...ignorance is blix

ignorantbelgium* (3:56:36 PM): lol

ignorantbelgium* (3:56:45 PM): that's why is head of research in the UN?

cherrylynn (3:56:55 PM): the un is a none entity

cherrylynn (3:57:01 PM): I wish we'd kick their arses out of our country

cherrylynn (3:57:14 PM): I mean...come on...they put Libya in charge of the conference on human rights

cherrylynn (3:57:29 PM): and Iraq in charge of the conference on disarmament????

cherrylynn (3:57:31 PM): f**k that

cherrylynn (3:57:42 PM): oh, and now that we are making such great progress....Koffi wants to help????

cherrylynn (3:57:44 PM): and France

ignorantbelgium* (3:57:47 PM): they put libya in charge one time cause they have to change that every 6 months

cherrylynn (3:57:50 PM): I'd tell them to f**k off if I was bush

cherrylynn (3:57:59 PM): they don't have to pick libya

ignorantbelgium* (3:58:10 PM): everyone gets his chance

cherrylynn (3:58:28 PM): UN is about becoming antiquated and there are A LOT of Americans that would just as soon kick them out of here

cherrylynn (3:58:50 PM): what it comes down to is the rest of the world has fallen, socialism doesn't work, and they are pissed off the only super power left is the US

ignorantbelgium* (3:58:55 PM): damn then it's very strange i see protests everywhere in america

cherrylynn (3:59:08 PM): there were also rallies with twice as many people

cherrylynn (3:59:10 PM): I was at one

cherrylynn (3:59:15 PM): but we don't get news coverage b/c we are "boring"

ignorantbelgium* (3:59:19 PM): what about the oscars?

cherrylynn (3:59:22 PM): we don't cause civil disobience

cherrylynn (3:59:36 PM): sven...WHO GIVES A F**K ABOUT A LOT OF ACTORS THAT DIDN'T EVEN GRADUATE FROM COLLEGE?????

cherrylynn (3:59:39 PM): they don't speak for me

cherrylynn (3:59:41 PM): at all

ignorantbelgium* (3:59:50 PM): thx a lot i didn't graduate either

cherrylynn (3:59:53 PM): some of those f**ks didn't even granduate from hs

ignorantbelgium* (4:00:00 PM): so my opinion doesn't count either???

cherrylynn (4:00:05 PM): yes, but you aren't on national tv calling our leaders an idiot

cherrylynn (4:00:14 PM): did you read the email I sent you on "who's smarter"????

cherrylynn (4:00:28 PM): look at the f**king resumes of our leaders vs. the hollyweird elite

ignorantbelgium* (4:00:31 PM): don't believe i got that

cherrylynn (4:00:36 PM): read it

ignorantbelgium* (4:00:46 PM): send it to me again pls

cherrylynn (4:00:47 PM): besides....stop reading propaganda and start researching stuff for yourselfs

cherrylynn (4:00:51 PM): yourself*

cherrylynn (4:00:59 PM): www.freerepublic.com

ignorantbelgium* (4:01:00 PM): that's what i always did

ignorantbelgium* (4:01:07 PM): i follow all kinds of news

cherrylynn (4:01:09 PM): go look at the posts there

cherrylynn (4:01:20 PM): we had 17,000 people at a rally for the troops in Minneapolis

ignorantbelgium*(4:01:22 PM): from UK,belgium ,france ,germany ,the netherlands

cherrylynn (4:01:25 PM): NO where did it get reported

cherrylynn (4:01:48 PM): CNN reported the rally I was at as attended by 600 people...I was there, there were well over 2000 people

cherrylynn (4:01:50 PM): well over

cherrylynn (4:02:03 PM): CNN is owned by Ted Turner...the other majority stock holder is......

cherrylynn (4:02:09 PM): a prince in Saudi Arabia

cherrylynn (4:02:12 PM): gee, imagine that

ignorantbelgium* (4:02:50 PM): saudi arabia has no opinion

ignorantbelgium* (4:03:03 PM): they don't support the war but they aren't against it either

cherrylynn (4:03:08 PM): the polls here have bush with a 76% approval rating

ignorantbelgium* (4:03:28 PM): it allready dropped today till 71%

ignorantbelgium* (4:03:32 PM): and keeps dropping

cherrylynn (4:03:36 PM): umm

cherrylynn (4:03:41 PM): no, last week it was 62%

cherrylynn (4:03:49 PM): after the first night of the war it went up to 76%

ignorantbelgium* (4:03:54 PM): his dad did much better

ignorantbelgium* (4:04:03 PM): at the same time with that war his dad had 82%

cherrylynn (4:04:12 PM): no comparison

cherrylynn (4:04:16 PM): we had FULL UN backing then

ignorantbelgium* (4:04:26 PM): so i still wonder why sr didn't finish the bloody job

ignorantbelgium* (4:04:31 PM): not true

cherrylynn (4:04:35 PM): b/c that was not the directive of the UN

ignorantbelgium*(4:04:39 PM): not all UN supported it

ignorantbelgium*(4:05:09 PM): but then again all UN never is for things like that

ignorantbelgium* (4:05:17 PM): why else would the UN excist?

ignorantbelgium* (4:05:25 PM): to give propaganda for war???

cherrylynn (4:05:29 PM): the UN shouldn't exist

cherrylynn (4:05:42 PM): except MAYBE as a humanitarian organization

cherrylynn (4:05:54 PM): they have no backbone, they don't uphold the resolutions they pass

ignorantbelgium*(4:06:00 PM): saying that means ur against the democracy

cherrylynn (4:06:06 PM): nope

cherrylynn (4:06:10 PM): un isn't a democracy

ignorantbelgium* (4:06:12 PM): and then ur no better then sadam or any other dictator

Fascinating read... you come across as a bit aggressive, but on the whole, MUCH better informed. Wish you'd come to my school and debate those stupid peaceniks holding a 10-day vigil by living in tents next to the library.

Good for you. Keep up the good work. I especially liked and thought this response by you funny "oh yes, hugs will solve everything" Hahahahahaha.

You're right to say the UN is not a democracy. We don't elect those people.

One small point, it was Franklin Roosevelt who was the Democrat.

The UN cannot be a democracy (who wants democracy anyway, majority rules?).

The UN is made up of members that do not have any mandate from the people of their country. No true representation, not a democracy in anyway.

Nakatu....*sigh* not aggressive...just pissed off and disgusted at seeing our marines executed and I wasn't pissed until he 1) said there is no proof they were executed and 2) cited the Oscars as his source for how America feels about the war.

In re-reading, I do appear agressive...but only after those two comments was my blood boiling.

That's right...I was already pissed at the other comments and wasn't thinking clearly. I stand corrected...well, I never agreed with him...just said that the same libs that gave us the UN gave us welfare. Can we finally fix both???

Here is perhaps the most telling comment by your ignorant Belgian friend:

"wrong is a relative word"

Moral relativism is the new philosophical foundation of the Leftists and so-called "Liberals": it allows them to justify anything, excuse anything, and absolve themselves of responsibility for anything. It allows them to equate the acts of:

Once you abolish--through relativism--the concepts of "right" vs. "wrong", "truth" vs. "lies", "good" vs. "evil", "correct" vs. "incorrect", then you can justify--and do--anything without guilt or accountability. And, by the way, this moral relativism is what's being force-fed to our nation's youth day-in and day-out by the Leftist indoctrination camps that pass for our Public Schools. It is the number one reason why our society is destined to fall (if we don't reverse their teachings). For without a definitive moral compass to guide a society, how can a society survive?

*sigh again* I just get so "annoyed" with the libs. I am glad I found you all to help with my debates. I must admit my strong point is not history, it is English (and I still can't spell, but I certainly can compose). Nothing is a bigger turn on whan an intellectual debate!

Oh, and I prefer the word "passionate" to "agressive"...hey...if the left can use "euphamisms" so can we! :D (did I spell that right??? told you...I know what words mean, I know how to use them, I can compose them, but I just can't spell them...lol)

The worst was know that the 'boos' for Moore et al were not because the Hollywoodites were supportive of our Military or war efforts, but rather they were scared of his rhetoric and how it would reflect on them at that moment.

A bunch of hypocrits, sending a hypocritical message to the home viewers. . .

. . .strange the real message of 'The Pianist' still escapes them as well. . .and yes, if Frida were alive 'she would be against the war'.

Okay folks, a hell of a lot of innocent lives were lost, just so you could enjoy your stupid opinions and express them. . .but no doubt, you think it was worth it.

Oh, eh, didn't mean to imply there was anything wrong with being "aggressive".

That'd happen to anyone... except that most people would give up, stomp away, or whatever. I run away when the debate gets too fierce, myself.

Instead, you chose to stay and fight. Only Job (the Biblical one) would've kept his cool and calmly attempted to reason with that blockhead. It is a quite interesting view of how the world views us (and Hollywood). You smashed him. Now pat yourself on the back. :-)

kidding....I never run away from a good debate....never surrender, never give up! :)

I never gloat in victories....it was but a small battle in the bigger war against liberalism
