What can I say, other than hope this is a "Word to the Wise"? I really didn't want to make this much personal information public, but would hate to think somebody suffered or died because I wanted to keep my life private.

The moral to this story is that men seem to get this disease in their scrotums, and most men have the "I'll wait a couple of days, and if it doesn't go down I'll go see the doc then." attitude. Count me in the minority on this one, pete. If anything happens to me "down there" my ass will be running to the doc screaming bloody murder!
Glad to hear you're okay. That whole ordeal must have really sucked.

Wow, sneakypete. I am so glad that you are on the mend after your horrific experience. Prayers headed your way.
To: sneakypete
Speechless, other than to commend your continued willingness to put the welfare of others before your own.
You might ask those who knew what you were going through, if someone may have been praying for you, prayers that God answered, answered to get your attention. The bible teaches all good things are gifts from God. You may not believe that, yet, but you should think about thanking God, and ask Him, sincerely, to show you the truth.
Very glad you're on the mend.

Hey Pete. Glad you made it, man. It took a lot of courage to write about your ordeal and pass the word on up the line for the rest of us, in case we have to take cover.
You may have left the Special Forces, but the Special Forces haven't left you. I hope you mend to God's good health.
Regards, Buck.

Bro, thanks for posting this, I have no doubt that it will help others in the future, and I know I will never forget what you have described and what needs to be done if worse comes to worst. Know our prayers are with you.
My boys and family will know, so they can in turn pass it on. Those SF medics jumped all over this one and got you the info you needed pronto. God bless 'em.
... and now you are doing the same. That's the mark (IMHO) of a heart andd mind that's right. I know you may not place a lot of stock in such things ... but God's working through you to help others, and I believe nudging your heart and mind to put this info out.
As harpseal says ... stay safe - stay armed.

It took courage and humility to tell everyone about this-- I think you're a hero. Thanks, Pete.

God speed, sneakypete. I would say, "God bless you" but it appears he already has. :0)
To: sneakypete
My god, man, you surely used up one of your nine lives on this one. Astounding!
Hope you don't mind, but I feel compelled to deliver my personal prayer of gratitude on your behalf.
I can't help myself, I have no control: So, now if you start being all nicey nice and cuddly, does that mean you lied about the part where they didn't have to cut anything off? ; - )
Ouch! Don't hurt me!

Calling the Yellow Rose of Texas prayer warriors! (My apologies to those who have already found their way here.)
In addition to praying for Yellow Rose of Texas in our vigil, we have also been praying for freeper sneakypete. His choice had been to keep the details of his condition confidential. However, he has decided to come forward with this post of what he has experienced in an extremely life-threatening situation. I wanted to alert you to what our prayers for him have been about! Just goes to show, you just never know!
THANK YOU SNEAKYPETE FOR COMING FORWARD!!
Father, we praise you and thank you for delivering our sneakypete from this pernicious pathogen. Please surround all of his immune system mechanisms with your light and assist him in clearing his whole body from any and all attacks from this disease. We ask that you will strengthen and heal his colon, private areas, and all of his tissues and organs. Guide his doctors and health care professionals in the proper way of treating this infection and its aftereffects. Give sneakypete comfort and rest so that his body may repair itself. Help his body to be able to assimilate the nutrients which are needful for the health of his body from his food. We ask that all the root causes for fluid retention are handled according to the needs of the body and that you will cause all bodily systems to function 100%. This which we call forth for our sneakypete we call forth for any and all of your children who may be afflicted with this condition according to thy will.
Amen

Cringe!
You can bet I'll never forget this post. Dang! Get well soon!
I would not wish such horror on anyone. Maybe not even my first wife. Rest her soul.

Thanks for caring
Thank the good Lord you are alive and intact!
