Did anyone catch the Simpsons episode where they made their own Fox News look like Republican shills? I thought it was hillarious myself and was cracking up at how they put devil ears on the democrat
Multi-tasking you know.
Krusty was great. The show is great. It's just getting harder on Homer these days.
I wish the show long life!
My favorite was "stay tuned for Hannity and Idiot."
I do not think the liberals have enough clearance to afford to be able to laugh at themselves, not to mention do it in such a flagrant way. In my opinion this settles once and for all whether the scriptwriters are liberal or "other".
Well there are still some conservatives who get offended by stuff like that but I thought it was hilarious.
"Ptu! Yuck, FOX"
I loved that. I also liked when Lisa Simpson said, "I normally don't give advise to Republicans, but for once I want to be in the winning side."
FOX Crawlscreen:
POINTLESS NEWS CRAWLS UP 37 PERCENT... DO DEMOCRATS CAUSE CANCER? FIND OUT A FOXNEWS.COM... RUPERT MURDOCH: TERRIFIC DANCER... DOW DOWN 5000 POINTS... STUDY: 92 PERCENT OF DEMOCRATS ARE GAY... JFK POSTHUMOUSLY JOINS REPUBLICAN PARTY... OIL SLICKS FOUND TO KEEP SEALS YOUNG, SUPPLE... DAN QUAYLE: AWESOME
FOX Crawlscreen during final credits:
ASHCORFT DECLARES BREASTS OF CHICKEN SANDWICH "OBSCENE"... HILLARY CLINTON EMBARRASSES SELF, NATION... BIBLE SAYS JESUS FAVORED CAPITAL-GAINS CUT... STAY TUNED FOR HANNITY AND IDIOT... ONLY DORKS WATCH CNN... JIMMY CARTER: OLD, WRINKLY, USELESS... BRAD PITT + ALBERT EINSTEIN = DICK CHENEY... RIGHT WING OF CHICKEN [End credits]
Anyone notice Homer's line ("There is no North Dakota! They won't admit it!") from the commercial for this episode didn't appear in this episode?
Yea, what was up with that? Wonder if it was way slanderous
Of course. Because the left only finds satire funny when it is directed towards the right. Anything else is not funny or worse a betrayal. Look at the venom Dennis Miller puts up with in lefty sites. He is a traitor to them. Look at how they reacted when SNL made fun of the "multilateral" protests or Gore for that matter. They were furious with SNL.
Now some here get upset when satire is poked in the "right" direction. However, the fox bit along with the running RNC gag are damn funny satire. For instance Jon Stewart is pretty vicious but when he gets off a one-liner that's funny I will laugh. Political satire is a grand tradition in this country and not all of it is venomously partisan. Then again I am such a Simpsons nut I would probably defend them to the death. ;-) Some satire is obviously partisan and vicious. Its humor is found only by the target audience of die hards. But I don;t think the Simpsons fall into that category.
But as you can tell more often than not I am "amused".
