North Carolina Speedway- Rockingham,NC A joint venture between Darlington Raceway builder Harold Brasington and landowner Bill Land, North Carolina Speedway's first race was held in 1965. Over time, the track came under control of L.G. DeWitt, a local trucking company executive who supervised reshaping the original flat mile track into the present, banked 1.017-mile oval in 1969.

Don't waste your time with go-cart racing. Well, based on yesterday's qualifying sessions (4 red flags in 45 minutes), I feel like you. Today's CART race will probably be a parade of yellows as the safety team pulls car after car off the wall or from the middle of the track.
OTOH, the WC race will probably be extremely competitive, have tons of human interest stories behind the cars and teams, and just a better "show".
But, then again, there's TWO people sitting in this room.

It will be nice to get a full race in. I need it after watching Dennis Kucinich and Dickie Gephardt on MeeT the DePressed. ;-)

Well, nobody here can see the red flannel shirt I'm wearing.
I have to show the house to the realator at 11. So just don't forget that if I buy a double-wide, that I want used tires for a house warming gift.

countin the weeks to Talledega here!!! Trioval tower tickets for the Busch Race, and Start/Finish Tickets for the Cup Race! Take the kids on Saturday and then get crazy on Sunday!
Do this Every April-October. Also try to go to one of the Atlanta races every year. Ultimate goal is Bristol Night tickets -- the hardest ticket in NASCAR

If the tires under your house have air in them, and the tires on all your cars don't,
you might be a redneck...

How many pit crewpersons does it take to change tires on a double-wide Normal crew works fine, but you need one Hell of strong Jackman and a really really long reach for those inside tires!

My personal favorite: "If you ever had to climb a water tower with a bucket of paint to defend your sister's honor...You might be a redneck."

My son got me hooked on NASCAR when he was about 14. Every Sunday I'd see him sitting and watching these cars go round and round and I'd ask him why he was watching something so boring. Then he started explaining strategy, how they pick up points, the excitment of pit stops and soon I found myself sitting and watching with him.
He must have figured all this stuff out on his own otherwise I have no idea how he learned it.

I always liked "If you've ever made change in the collection plate, you might be a redneck."

So just don't forget that if I buy a double-wide, that I want used tires for a house warming gift. Dang! That means I have to return the plastic flaminos, green gazing ball, and garden gnomes.
