Gawd! If I see/meet one more Amber Nichol or Misty Dawn....I think I'll extricate myself from society in general!
As a occasional visitor to, uh, "exotic dance" clubs, I can tell you that Madison is definitely a stripper's name. Every club has a Madison!
I met a guy named Jett Propulsion once.....
And now, in fairness, my two daughter's names:
Bryony Jayne (My wife's idea with all the "y's"
Roseanna Jillaine
Take yer best shots, kids! lol!

This crap has gone too far. We are becoming a nation of people with stupid names.I'm with you. My names of choice are Anne, Jane, and Mary for girls, Max, Jack, and Zach for boys.

A person I know of has the last name of Sass. It doesn't matter what you put on as the first name, it can be funny.
Have you seen Julie Sass? What did you hear from Julie Sass? Julie Sass is a huge supporter.
Talk about being the butt of jokes.
My wife is about ready to hit me over this one.

This one made me laugh out loud for real. Not many writers can do that. Combination of good writing to WAY too close to home.
My tongue is forever raw and bleeding from me having to bite it when another of my friends or family tells me another new child's name.
To: A_perfect_lady
I think Ann (Anne) is a lovely name, as is Gretchen (dimunitive of Greta, which is short for Margurethe, a fine old Teutonic name). Sadly, my daughters will not be named Anne or Greta because two of my old girlfriends (who are both well-known to Mrs. B-chan) are named Ann and Greta!
When we have our kids, the first girl will be Echo Frances (after her grandmothers, Echo and Frances) and the first boy will be Johann Basil (after his grandfather and great uncle respectively), nicknamed Han. We're thinking Wehrner for second boy, but haven't made a decision on that one yet.
Our second daughter will be Isabella Paige, after the great Catholic Queen of Spain and my wife's late grandfather respectively, and will be called "Bell".
Saints and ancestors! Tradition!
