Survivor 6: The Amazon
Posted on 02/11/2003 4:56:24 AM PST by cuz_it_aint_their_money
Well, Im back.
Sort of.
My wife, (the lovely and gracious, Mrs. CUZ) has laid down the law!
Youre spending too much time FReeping and not enough time paying attention to me!
Women! Go figure!
Anyway, my FReeping has been severely curtailed, so Ill start this thread, and from time to time, spout off with my two cents worth, but someone else will have to maintain the ping list and post weekly recaps (If they feel so inclined).
If someone wants the ping list, FReepmail me and Ill send it to them.
Till then,
Enjoy,

Good Morning fellow Survivor Junkies
Well, I could start off this dissertation with a discussion on the insights revealed during last weeks re-cap show. However, true to form, it was as boring as all the other re-cap shows, so its best to let it peacefully fade away into oblivion.
Besides, its much more fun trashing the remaining contestants. So on that note, on with the awards:
First, the ladies:
Christy has yet to do anything to bring discredit or shame to her gender. So its doubtful that she will ever win this dubious honor.
That leaves Jenna and Heidi, the boobsy twins. Since these two have shared the award so many times in past weeks and since its getting harder and harder to separate them, I herby declare them both, Bimbos in Perpetuity!
Now for the guys.
Butch has been under the radar so many times, that I have a tendency to forget that he is still even in the game.
Matt is just plain psycho; a complete whack-job.
Alex is just playing the game and eliminating his biggest threat each week.
That leaves Rob:
Rob, the ugly duckling who (by his own admission) couldnt get a date with a cute chick if his life depended on it.
Rob, the putz who thinks that he is in control of the game.
Rob, the twit who claims to be the Survivor expert of the group.
Rob, the outsider dweeb who wants so desperately to fit in to the beautiful people alliance, that he is blind to the fact that he will never do better than fourth place.
Rob, who FReeper stands2reason, so eloquently put it, way back on post #90: Rob is such a....a Rob!!
For continually bringing shame and dishonor to the Male of the Species, I herby declare Rob to be Bozo in Perpetuity!
Now for the prediction:
The SeeBS website states:
Beaming with power, the alliance of Alex, Rob, Jenna and Heidi take it easy while the others toil in the hopes of saving themselves. This would lead us to believe that either Matt, Butch, or Christy would be the next one to go.
However, the website also hints at: A Survivor promises to vote against a trusted ally, sending the wounded friend into a flutter. Who could they be talking about? HHMMMMM????????
Yep, you guessed it! Rob.
I think that he realizes that if he sticks with Alex, Jenna and Heidi, he can expect no better than fourth place. Furthermore, he claims to have Matts ear and through Matt, Butchs ear, and by default Christys, therefore, if he were to switch alliances, he would have a better chance pulling a Wigglesworth and running the last few Immunity challenges, without Alex.
So my guess is that Rob switches alliances, Matt wins Immunity again, and Alex gets the boot.
Thats it for this week,
Enjoy,

I read in the paper today that the finl episode will again be taking place live in New York City. Does anyone know if you need tickets for this, and if so, how would I go about getting some?

I have never, and WILL NEVER watch any of this stupid Survivor show.
This show has contributed to the "dumbing down" of America, and the many inane "reality shows."

You nailed it on the head. Rob is no dummy. He realizes he will do no better than 4th place as it stands. He can now switch thanks to having Matt's trust and Butch's and Christy's desperation. Besides, if he wins the million bucks he can get all the lap dances he wants. Alex will go if he doesn't win immunity. If not, it will be one of the implant chicks. The final four should be Rob, Matt, Butch, and Christy with Rob and Matt pitted against Butch and Christy.

Wow, you declared Survivor stupid without having ever watched it.
I'm not going to waste my breath (keystrokes, actually, but whatever) going into why I believe Survivor is a great show. I will also not attempt to differentiate Survivor from the slew of other 'reality' programs out there. In fact, I don't believe Survivor should even be labeled a reality show. It's not reality. It's unscripted, just like most gameshows. If it were me, I would label Survivor an extravagent gameshow (that I find very entertaining, btw).
I read a good article today about how many reality shows have basically bombed over the last 12 months. We all know how fickle the American TV audience is. While Survivor's ratings have slipped over time, I believe it is still a Top 10 show.
As to your comment about Survivor contributing to the 'dumbing down' of America, I contend that there are many, many other causes that have had much greater impact on the so-called dumbing-down of this country. Interestingly, the creators of Survivor point to the mastery of John Nash's Non-Cooperative Game Theory as possibly the best way to win the competition.
I certainly take no offense to your comments, just disagree with them. I'm also not trying to change your mind or anything. Just talkin'
Peace, and may God continue to bless America.

Don't want you to think your being ignored. I'm checking my contacts, and will eventually get back to you with an answer.

With all due respect, what made you decide to wait until post #464 of this months-old thread to contribute that? Also, what are some of your favorite shows/movies/musical groups?

Great! I do appreciate it. If I recall correctly, I've heard that in years past, you could just show up in Central Park and there was plenty of room for everybody. Just wanted to make sure this is still the case.

They are not a very nice bunch.
The foul foursome are most unpleasent. Matt is loony (although if you know you are crazy are you actually crazy?) Christi is a bit of a bigot and Butch, well, nothing is wrong with Butch but he is so low key I would swear his heart only beats once a day.
But the game still holds my interest.
This might be the first time a "Final Four" alliance has not held.
